Fun fact: _Bergara_ is a Spanish word that roughly translates to “Buy a Savage.” My friend bought the so-called “Pro” model at a near $500 premium over the standard model and all it is is a swirly shaped bolt body and a $3 Krylon paint job. Went to degrease the screw holes to mount the scope base, using 99% alcohol on a q-tip and the storebrand spray paint Bergara uses as a “finish” on their alleged “Pro” model came off instantly. And I’m sure the swirly dog turd bolt body appeals to the same crowd that carries Extreme Shock! ammo and buys “ACOGs” off of the Wish app, but it along with the spray-paint finish certainly does not justify the several hundred dollar price increase over the standard model. Especially when it’s a 3/4 MOA rifle, which isn’t much of an improvement over a $210 TC Compass. In short the Bergara “Pro” model is a *scam.*

Notice how the brass dribbles out and in the initial vid of shooting one of the cartridges pops loose before ejection? The extractors are cast and have too large a ball bearing detent hole in them. Put an AD Arms extractor in it and it will cure this issue.

The OG HMR is tough to beat, even if paired off against the HMR PRO. In my opinion, the Bergera trigger edges out the Trigger Tech unit (I own both). Both amazing rifles out of the box, but the additional $700 bones saved by going with the OG HMR, it frees up some cash for a high quality base, rings and optic. My HMR is fitted with a Warne 20 MOA steel base, Warne 34mm split steel rings holding true a Steiner T5Xi 3-15x50 scope with the SCR reticle. Chambered in 6.5CM and handloaded 143 grain Hornady ELD-X’s, this setup is my go to rifle for deer...and I’ve got a damn fine selection of rifles to choose from. The additional barrel length made available in the PRO line will certainly aid in stretching out a given cartridge. Love the content. Keep it up bud!

Amazing grouping for that range and wind conditions (550 yds)! It's also amazing how greatly VALUE has increased in bolt action rifles -- more quality and reduced pricing. This is really an excellent value for "realistic" long range shooting (i.e., it's not meant for 2000 yard shooing -- although one could probably get some utility at even that sort of range with it).

I think it's funny how when Ruger came out with the RPR they offered it in .243AMD a lot of people just kinda laughed it off. Now 6mm Creedmore comes out and it's the same idea but can shoot heavier bullets. I get that that makes a big difference bit I'm just thinking it's funny that so many people laughed at the .243. It's one of my favorite calibers.

Thank you for your review I just picked one up in 300 win mag caliber in the Premier HMR pro … i’ll be honest I haven’t received it’s yet but I think from all the reviews that I’m hearing that it should be a very good rifle and I feel that you really do get what you paid for but there are a when the extra mile with this one hopefully it will last me a long time and then I can pass it on to my kids I did a lot of research about the regular B 14 and the only thing the bug me is the professionals usually said that the chromemoly steel starts to go down and quality after your first shot that kind of really bugged me that’s why I decided to go with stainless steel and another thing I called Vergara and specifically ask them about the barrel if it’s made in the USA and they told me that all of the barrels doesn’t matter if it’s in chromemoly steel or stainless steel they all come from Spain but then get finished in USA And I personally really like that because I study different steals and I’m also a knife guy I can tell you that the Spain stainless steel is one of the best in the world that’s why after very long research I realize that only the premiere series is the best because they offer it in stainless steel

Not sure if it's the ammo you're using (seems to be the ammo that Bergara suggests), but the ejection on this rifle looks very suspect. Spent cases are barely making it out of the action, and you even experienced two failures to eject in the video which you failed to address. I wonder if this is an issue with all Bergaras or just this one rifle/calibre combination?

I have the B-14 HMR in 308. It is far from impressive. The thing maybe puts 2 out 3 5-shot groups under 1 MOA with the best handloads I've been able to work up for it or factory ammo it likes. I contacted Bergara about it. They fired two 3-shot groups through it (one of which was 0.98 MOA), and sent it back to me without even telling me they were returning it. I was away on vacation and had to pay UPS to hold it so it wouldn't be returned to sender. Anyway, the gun still shoots just as bad as before. I will never buy another Bergara product.

Any changes on their LRP models or any new reviews expected on them, and you need to do a review on the scope in the video as well?

Cause the gun come from Spain and the buyer needs to pay for the shipping cost on my personal opinion I love guns made in the USA I got a Ruger m77 Hawkeye LRT and I feel comfortable with the gun I got too a Springfield XD.45 and I didn't that we should be consuming what's made in the USA due that we are supporting the economy in many ways

I just bought this gun in 300 win mag. Do you recommend a aluminum or steel scope rail or does it matter? Does the steel help out on strength?
