As someone who did some DJ'ing in the late 90s and early 2000s, who has always had the itch to try again as a hobby, this has been SUCH a great experience to use in VR. It satisfied that urge without having to go back and spend all that money. It really has everything you need and although at first it takes some getting used to the controls, you can really work with it. Once hand tracking gets better it'll be great.

The caveat is that you buy the vr, buy the game. Now, they want you to pay a yearly subscription ($70) to play it at all. I have it, and still haven't played it

So I personally connected my quest up to my laptop with a usb C cable and transferred my regular dj files (wav and mp3) onto my quest in their own folders. It’s been a very long time since I did this but I remember it being fairly simple.

Can you tell me if there is a huge difference between the oculus version or the one you can buy on Steam

I havnt tried the steam version but I'd imagine they are exactly the same with maybe a few upgraded graphics and cosmetics on the steam version. The performance should be the same. There is no latency on the oculus version. I imagine the steam version is optimised to the hardware powering it.

You can attach the setup to headphones or to an amp via auxiliary inputs but I was just using the native sound built into the headset.

Used the screen record function on the apps start menu. Just press the oculus button on your right controller once the app is launched and bottom left should a a record icon

Are the tracks your own or are they streamed straight from SoundCloud etc

So the tracks I had previously downloaded and uploaded to the storage bank within my oculus quest 2. But you can indeed mix using SoundCloud as a third party.

there's a small list of songs available to use to get you started, you can use music from your own music folder, soundcloud, and several other methods of adding music. Unfortunately now there is a subscription fee. I got it a while ago so i was grandfathered into the $199 lifetime subscription for free, but new members need to pay $80 a year or $10 a month.

As for this question I presume if you have the hardware required you could in theory record in mp3 using something like the software Audacity connected to a pc. I’m not sure if the app natively allows you to record in mp3 that would be a question best directed to the games developers. ( they are active on Reddit from what I have seen)
