Professional Dancer Reacts To Cuban Social Dancing - Yoyo Flow & Yenifer & Mattia - Dance With Rasa
Ойын-сауық
This week, it's Cuban time! Based on a request from one of my followers, this week's react video is a little bit of Cuban Salsa, in the form of social dancing. This video is a little different, because it features three dancers, with the leaders switching in and out in turns. Check out my reaction and let me know your opinion in the comments!

We dance like this especially for birthdays. A circle is formed around you and you keep changing partners until the song ends

Yes indeed we do 😇
So these guys are great, basically Yoyo is the main teacher, Mattia & Paolo are his students and follow his style. Yoyo is also famous for creating/pushing the boundaries with his own "Salsa new style"

6.57 you mentioned she is little bit forward , not forgetting it is a Timba =mix of lot of Cuban dance dicipline one of them is La Rumba which make you keep a that posture for a guys or ladies...............honest opinion.

I completely get it and know what you mean, I just feel like if you not doing rumba part and doing more just cuban styling that posture for me is a bit too much, just as personal preference 😉.

They are dancing Timba and mixing different dances, at that point she is doin the "Yuka", hence the body posture going forward slightly. Love the video ♥️ Keep sharing the love
The way they dance here is more like playing with each other, not particularly focusing on style, whatever comes to mind is executed. Cuban rhythms are perfect for this kind of joyful style. Here in New York we dance more Salsa on 2 style, it is more in line dance while Cuban goes more around each other. At the end of the day style doesn't matter as long as you have fun dance however you like.

That's very fair enough. Thank you for your comment 👍
To be fair my teacher in Havana was from Santiago de Cuba and she was pretty forward as well. I think for cuban it looks great

I agree, I think it does come with the style of dance 😉.
😂 That was so awesome! It reminds me of my Rueda class. I would like to see a breakdown of that combination with the hands flying left and right and over the head as in this video. I think I stand there with panic on my face and forget to move my feet whenever a leader is trying this move on the dance floor.

That should be the name of the move, the panick Arms 🤣
Super

Thank you Rasa for this awesomely fun choice of social dance video 🤗 Personally I appreciate the conversation between the dancers, especially with your highligths on the subtle body language. So delightful whatching dancers being able and willing to express their inner world in style, to the music 💜That is one of my goals too. There are some leaders in our school, who prefer mixing cuban with Xbody, usually it is fun and gives lots of opportunity to fine tune following sense and technique. 🌍 Cheers from Hungary

Thank you for the video! I love the insights you gave the video:) I'd love for you to check out Yoandys social dance with Bersy Cortez at the World Stars festival, it's a favorite of mine :D

I'll check it out!
I enjoy watching Yoandy Villaurrutia - he does have a tendency to mix up his Cuban and xbody when the opportunity and space arises. Only ever seen him do that outrageously good and fancy hand release with his raised foot - the timing and athleticism of it is quite something! Alas, my tight hamstrings do not permit me such a manoeuvre :) Dos Mujeres is a thing... But never seen Dos Hombres before.

Yes he is very cool indeed 😎 I had those moves done to me before, crazy 🤪
I think that is Seo Fernandez running about with the microphone, and guy #2 should be Paolo Suarez. Her full name is Yenifer Lavin (with a modern dance background) and the family name of Mattia is Di Minno from what I gathered. Lots of great display of musicality, and one of the things that strikes me is that these are all (?) professional dancers and yet they have real fun on the floor. I could be wrong, but I think Yoandi is pushing this crew - at least himself - to show their best; he seems competitive. And indeed it is interesting to see the nuances in how Yenifer reacts to and interacts with the different leaders. I also noticed that none of them are much into the Rumba/Vacuna game, there are only very slight hints at it, and I actually like that.

Loved the video! What is your opinion on mixing styles like they do in social dancing? You can see casino, rumba, reggaeton and crossbody here, which is a super fun mix. But as a follower it must a bit hard to keep up I'm guessing. I really like to dance like this here in London but not many followers are able to follow all of the styles.

I actually made a hole video about it 😁 kzread.info/dash/bejne/rJ1ovJqmj9uul6w.html. Basically, as long as one type is the dominant one, I think it's fun to mix it up 😇
He is not mixing cross body with cuban. All of them dance timba, timba is not the same as casino, it is more relaxed and free style

Cool , thank you for that 🙏
Yoyoflow is actually one of the cubain dancers I try to emulate very smooth and can be very energetic at times. I think all the moves are 100% Cuban. I dance both linear and Cuban and for me the main difference is frame in linear you gotta dance in line and the body frame should be positioned in a correct manner, in Cuban there is a lot more freedom for both the lead and follow as you have more freedom

Yes they do , great point 🤩
The dancers on the video are the best of dancers and teachers in Europe. The video of them dancing is the best. This woman trying to analyze it and criticizing is awful. It's easier to comment than dancing. She should try dancing instead of commenting videos of others. Please skip the video and use it to appreciate the dancers. Cuban timba is dance forward 😅.

The women commenting loves to dance 💗 and appreciates the dancing in the video , just expressing an opinion 😉.
It’s cool, but I feel like some guys are drooling over some women and make lines to dance with them and don’t invite others that want and need to practice… I honestly don’t understand guys that dance, sometimes I need to ask for a break and sometimes I’m not invited much! That’s why the goal to be in the relationship with somebody that we practice together at home and go out to dance that really knows how to lead, to dance with me, most of the time and to “share” with other women that are sitting there wanting to be invited to dance!🤣🙏 I don’t dance very well but if guys that come to invite me don’t dance much I dance with them anyways and I pretend everything is fine and we have fun! But the attitude of some men on the dance floor stinks! Not to mention some to go there only to drink and watch!🤦🏽♀️
