Professional Dancer Reacts To BINI "Karera" [Practice + Performance]

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

For today's episode of "Professional Dancer Reacts" I react to BINI "Karera" Practice and Performance Video.
I'm joined by Max, Noelle, and Chrissy from Temper Tantrum as we react to BINI's "Karera" practice and performance video. After our group reaction, I dive deep into analyzing the choreography and share my thoughts on what makes this piece so captivating.
What I liked in the choreography:
1. The clever use of asymmetry in formations, which keeps the audience engaged and their eyes moving, making the performance more dynamic and interesting.
2. The seamless integration of the artist into the choreography, with the dancers framing and complementing their movements, creating a cohesive and visually appealing performance.
3. The intricate pathways and traffic patterns, which showcase the dancers' spatial awareness and ability to navigate the stage while maintaining clean formations.
4. The dance breakdown section, which highlights the group's versatility and skill in executing various styles, such as house and locking, while still maintaining a cohesive feel.
5. The attention to detail in the choreography, from the subtle musicality to the intentional use of angles and lines, which elevates the overall performance quality.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on BINI's "Karera" and our reaction to it. Did you notice any other details in the choreography that stood out to you? Let me know in the comments below.

Stacey (main rapper), Mikha (main rapper), and Colet (main vocal) wrote the rap parts for this song. They also included sign language to their choreography, the "buhay ay di karera" (life is not a race) part.

Their choreographers for this song are Mikey Perz, Matthew Almodovar, Reden Blanquera and Adam Alonzo. You should see them on the MVs description in KZread. Mikey and Matthew are pretty much their main choreographers.

It’s probably the best reaction videos out there because you know that it’s from professional dancers/choreographers. You can really see the passion you guys have for dance. ❤

I think you would also agree the reason why they use a lot of assymetrical formations because they are an even number of dancers which is very hard compared to an odd number of dancers. There's a lot of shared centers as well diamond rotations all throughout making sure every member is seen and has a moment.

From watching this dance practice and their performances, I can't help but notice how Aiah (blue tube top) improvised a step as she was too early for her action in the outro of the song at around 46:36 of your video. It is not obvious though as she's the one currently singing so props to her for playing it cool haha love her ❤

Know now that you guys have like legit Filipino Heritage, I think you should give ALAMAT a try. They are a PPop group, not in your caliber or BINI's in terms of Choreography, but they are really good in incorporating Ethnic moves to their Dances. ALAMAT for me is still a work in progress, but their newer songs like Maharani is worth checking out.

  • @huhjanus

Alamat are so good, but the only problem with them is they aren't really synchronized in dancing. It tracks well honestly since I'm pretty sure they're the least trained out of the mainstream PPOP groups. They obviously all can dance, but with more training, they're going to be really amazing and synchronized.
