    So happy to see you bringing newer product recommendations for curly hair. I've honestly given up on cg it burns a hole in my pocket only for my hair to turn into a dry matted mess the very next day. My hair density has significantly decreased which makes me wanna comb my curl clumps to make my head look fuller but i guess it has loosened my curl patter a lot more. It's like i have to choose between having juicy curls and more volume. So i went back to silicones and sulfates. The only good thing is I am saving some money

    I have faced similar problems to you. When I suffered from a hair fall, I stopped combing it, and it got better. The main cause was changing cities and different climates. Also, simplifying my hair routine helped a lot. I only use oil, shampoo, and curl cream. Because I do not use heat, I have retained my curl patterns. There are cheaper sulfate-free shampoo options, you can get them, and conditioners, silicone, or not. Add a mcaffeine hair cream. You'll get it for 180 in smytten. Again, I feel haircare must be customized according to your needs, environment, routine, and budget. And you can always break the rules and make it work for you.

  • @MichelleManuel

    @jinnicasharda9991 Theres one thing I want everyone to take away from my videos. It's the concept of ideal moisturization & product levels. It's important to understand how much moisture your hair needs. You'll notice that I attach levels to each leave in. Like level 2, level 3, level 4. Each of us has a different level of ideal moisturization. When you use a product that is too light for your hair, your hair will be under-moisturized. When you keep under-moisturizing your hair, it will lead to dryness. This can cause damage in the form of breakage and tangling. It will ruin the lengths of your hair. Length retention becomes very difficult in these conditions. Conversely, when you use products that are too heavy for your hair, your hair remains in a constant state of over-moisturization. This will lead to frizz, greasiness, tangling & hygral fatigue in the long term. You'll need to access which of these issues apply to you and address your hair's unique needs for moisture. Were they too light or too heavy? Based on this, I would ask you to make changes.

    Hey, I am kinda new into cgm(1 month in) and as you said im trying to perfect my styling method and routine as you said. Im more of 2a-2c type. Different in different sections. But my hair near the crown are doesnt get as wavy as the rest( like hair at back is 2c but this area is 2a pattern) Idk if its because my hair pattern is only like that or my styling is not good(btw I do rake and scrunch only) . Is there any way I can manipulate this part to make it more wavy. Are there any styling methods?( i tried finger curling this section but it doesnt work tho it works for my front bangs)

    Also, one more request maam, i have been seen and explored much of your content and have absolutely fallen in love with it ! As a result i was very quick to subscribe and would also put up a request if you may, for styling tips for cancer patients who have lost their hair. I understand that a wig is always a better option than covering your head with a beanie or a scarf but i would really appreciate if you could elaborate on the potentiality of scarfs for styling a hairless, bald head for indian girls. I have always found the african american women absolutely stunning with the scarfs and was wondering if something like that was possible for indian girls too !!

    Hii Michelle I have been struggling with CGM for almost 2 years now Im a student and my parents refuse to provide me with money for so many cgm products I tried making an ambla, reetha and shikakai shampoo at home... It does not lather up but cleans my hair just fine but that also when i haven't applied anything stylers or oil to my hair... I really want to invest in my curls but i dont have soo much money to buy 5-6 products... Im not quite sure about my porosity.. I tried putting strands for my hair in the water and it kinda stayed in the middle so i guess that says medium porosity... Im quite frustrated with all the information i have been getting on KZread... Like the products and the porosity and the curls patterns... Im just not able to fully understand things... Your channel is the only channel im following now bcs you explain everything in detail and its easy to understand I just have one request from you... I know its a lot to ask but plz recommend me 3 or max 4 products that i can stick to for atleast next 6 months I cant tolerate parabens so that i want to avoid Just some affordable options that atleast last for 2 months My hair is a little below my shoulders and i dont have very tight curl pattern, it resembles your curl pattern a lot I dont understand the 2c, 3c and whatnot It would be great if you could help me a little Thanks and sorry for blabbering for so long

    You know what though? I'll tell you something very sincerely. Think about how much effort one of my videos take. Think about how much creators have to pay for our equipment, our software and all the other subscriptions required to run a youtube channel with high production value. Most often small channels don't break even. The products featured in the video cost more than the revenue generated from the video itself. A sponsored video doesn't always mean the creator is lying. A sponsored video means the brand is paying for the time and effort required to make the content. They're paying for the amount of time taken to thoroughly test out the products. Think of it as opportunity cost. I know it may look easy, but when you're doing everything on your own including editing and colour correction, it takes a crazy amount of time and effort. A sponsorship means the brand is trying to fairly compensate you for your time and hard work. About moxie yes, I've been trying some of the products. Waiting on some more products to reach me as well. I don't know if my video will be sponsored or not. Even if it is, my opinion will be free of bias. I will never be dishonest in my content. But do I believe I deserve fair compensation for my time and effort, yes I do. I work very hard on product reviews. Very very hard. Moreover, do you believe every other wavy and curly creator should be paid, except me? No I'll intentions with my comment. Just giving you some food for thought.

    Man! high porosity hair can really take a lot of products. If I used any of these line-ups FOR SURE I would have build up or flat waves from using too many/too heavy products. In the horrible summer heat we have now I am only using leave-in conditioners and washing hair every alternate day. Michelle, is there any curl cream that would suit low porosity hair by any chance? My hair loves protein by the way. So any protein rich cream would also do.

  • @MichelleManuel

    @MichelleManuel

    Ай бұрын

    Please don't be embarrassed. It happens. Everyone gets lice at some point. Use mediker anti-lice shampoo. Wash your hair frequently. And get yourself one of those lice combs. You'll need to keep repeating this shampoo. Because the shampoo will kill the lice but the nits will keep hatching. So wash your hair frequently. Remove nits with the comb. Repeat this cycle. Don't use any oil please. I'll also caution you to disinfect your sheets, pillowcases and everything else that comes in contact. If it's a huge issue and you're not being able to control it, get pest control done in your house once. If your peers have lice as well, it's easy for the issue to reoccur. If possible try to get through them with empathy and kindness. Inform them of the issue and ask them also to take action gently. ❤️🌷❤️🌷

  • @MichelleManuel

    @MichelleManuel

    2 ай бұрын

    The arata OG gel does not give volume or robust curl clumps. It's a soft hold gel better suited to beginners who find gels intimidating. Or best suited to people who like combing through their hair on day 2 and day 3. You probably won't* get mega volume with the gel if you have low to medium density hair. For me personally, I only gets big volume when I use strong hold gels. Either you can try a strong hold gel (if you're comfortable) or you can do gel mousse gel (with the enliven mousse. It gives me big volume when I do an upside down styling technique)

  • @MichelleManuel

    @MichelleManuel

    Ай бұрын

    We consider a product to be a protein product, when it has protein in the top 5 ingredients. (Which is not an issue with the super shampoo) Secondly, when doing a protein washday, we consider protein in 2 product categories, leave in/curl cream & hair mask/conditioner. If the hair requires more than that then we opt for a protein gel. One need not worry about short contact, rinse-off products like shampoos. One need not worry if the protein ingredient is listed way down below on the list.

    I do think that the separate lineups give different results and it is needed to balance things. Sometimes the usual doesn't do it and hair feels like it needs more or something different you know what i mean. Also I have noticed something that most of the products come with a shelf life of max 6 months so with two separate lineup it's difficult to finish both moisture and protein products in 6 months if they are not of medium quantity. And not all the products come in 100 ml package like hair masks comes in 200 ml mostly. So i worry about being able to finish them on time. I LIKED HOW YOU MADE THIS VIDEO REALLY SIMPLE. Tbh I get overwhelmed with more product options, also it feels restricting if there are not many options (even i am confused). i have watched the medium porosity product video so many times and i feel like i can't decide which product to go for haha. Can you please make a video on medium porosity products moisture and protein line up wise like you did in this video with all protein and moisture products listed separately for that porosity hair. I follow your amazon store list and it has moisture and protein list but i can't decide if something will be a good choice for my hair type. Just another question. Is Dot & Key Pea Peptide Strengthening Moringa & Argan Hair Mask protein product or moisture product? The name makes it sound protein but i found it in your moisture list. (I think every time you post something, i ask lots of questions haha). Thank you for always bringing such informative video.

    Ok. Let me answer some of the questions here. I'll update my medium porosity hair video. To be quite frank on medium porosity hair you can make any product work for you. Nothing is off limits. Both light and heavy products will work. You just have to figure out the quantity. That's the key. The products expire in 12 months so you'll have enough time to finish them off. Don't worry about that. Even with the less used protein products, pick a product, use it as needed and you're sorted. The only product I see you having trouble finishing will be the leave in. You'll need very little leave in on your medium porosity hair. 50ml or 50 gram sizes are best for us. What else. Hang on, I need to read your comment again. I think I've missed some questions.

    Ah yes the dot and key moringa and argan hair mask. Protein doesn't feature in the top 5, but you have multiple protein sources in the formula like hydrolyzed quinoa, wheat amino acid, soy amino acid and arginine. They have all 3 in the formula, large, medium and small proteins. You could consider this to be a protein product. Imo the sugarboo mask defeats this mask hands down. Better slip as well. It's a stunning product. Just stunning.

    @@MichelleManuel Thank you so much for answering ♥️😭. My hair has changed recently. Putting more products doesn't do well as it did before. I will be waiting for your updated medium porosity video🥰. Yes we need smaller sizes of leave in - 50 ml But not all brands have such small packages. You are right - some products have "12 or 24 months from the date of manufacture" written but some of them have a shelf life i.e. finish within 6 months of opening on top of expiry date. I once bought fix my curls protein leave in of 250 ml and it had 6 months shelf life 🥲. Even for masks - they usually comes in 200 ml- if I have a protein one and one for moisture and we don't need to deep condition every week then how am I going to finish them within 6 month shelf life? Can we even use them after the shelf life has ended but the expiry date hasn't arrived?

    @@MichelleManuel Okay I'll definitely try the sugerboo mask after this one 😄. I am currently using the arata hair mask but it doesn't work for my hair 😭 - feels drying. The other protein hair mask I know and love is the reequil one but it's a bit thick, I like masks like truefrog which aren't thick in consistency. I'm so glad you answered 😁. I definitely went overboard with questions 😂.

    Ok if the reequil pea protein mask is heavy for you, the sugarboo mask is heavier. So then don't get it.

    It's a gentle shampoo. You'll need to shampoo your hair a few times to completely remove the oil. Kinda why I recommended a cleansing shampoo with an oil and a moisturising shampoo without.

    Hey you mentioned arata super shampoo as moisturising.. but isnt it a clarifying shampoo due to the acv in it?

  • @MichelleManuel

    @MichelleManuel

    3 ай бұрын

    I can see ACV in the lower middle on the ingredient list. But overall I found the shampoo to be gentle and good for frequent washers. Also will be suited to people who would benefit from a non stripping shampoo that cleanses, moisturizes and provides slip. I will not categorize the super shampoo as a clarifying shampoo. At best I will say that the shampoo is a moisturising shampoo with a chelating ingredient. But it is a chelating shampoo? One that I would rely on to remove hard water minerals and pool water chemicals? No. I wouldn't say that.

    When you begin it takes time because youre just learning the steps. After a while you becomes like second nature. You can run through your routine quicker. How much time will depend on your styling technique. A rake and scrunch will be faster than a brush styling routine

    Most of these products are almost empty. You may be able to see it in the footage. All of them have been purchased multiple times and emptied multiple times. As a high porosity girlie I went through products very quickly. The curl up bond repair mask is relatively new to my collection so it's not empty yet. If you're asking what I do with products that don't work for me, I give them to my family and friends as soon as I'm done reviewing them. I don't let them sit and expire.
