Nice straightforward process. Definitely getting the job done, can't complain about that. Many Big Businesses have started from very humble beginnings like this. Make the money, then put it back into the business and let it grow. What a shame how so many humble businesses, forget where they come from ????

Watch the videos of foundry works. They carry crucibles of molten metal and not even wear shoes! PPE, non existent. Apparently, if one goes down from a spill of molten brass, there are others ready to step in. Maybe that is why you so often see guys sitting around doing nothing, they are waiting for things to go wrong and they will jump in. There seems to be laws against tables/work benches. So often they are sitting and working on the ground. Many times they use a foot as a third hand. Just so different than the west.

Fix the mold part line to eliminate the flash. Build a second set of cores for the second man to degate the spruce, remove the cores and perform a visually inspection. Add cooling lines in the mold to enhance production. Employee health and safety concern sadly matches the 1920 technology.

Almost as bad as an offshore 2 cavity threaded closure cap molding operation. The operator would run around the end of the press to climb a set of stairs to sit on a bicycle mounted atop the mold, after the press opened he peddled for the chain to revolve the threaded cores. Then back to trim the gates and pack the parts.

In the 1960's I worked in a plastic moulding factory in Sydney, Australia - we had fully automated injection machines for thermoplastic resin (softens with heat), and what might be termed semi-automatic compression and transfer moulding presses for thermosetting resin (sets with heat and pressure - not re-meltable). We customised our resins with colour and fibres were added to our thermo-setting resins for strength - one young guy was solely engaged in mixing the resins, colores and fibres in a sealed room as the dust would get everywhere including on him - he looked like a coal miner by early morning - the fibres were mostly asbestos - we hadn't heard about the dangers then - I in later years I often wondered about him.....?

A kind of low pressure injection moulding with a nice finish to. He cuts of the gate and runners along with flash which I assume would be mainly down to poor mould construction and/or lack of pressure on mould half's. The barrel is heated by a gas burner which i doubt has much temperature control. The compound used is like dust and reminds me very much of asbestos

Good work, nice machine. However, it is a bit sad. Injection molded PVC done in modern automatic facilities are about 300 times more productive even at German, Japanese or USA labor costs. It would be a lot better for these guys to use that ingenuity to do some other product.

A lot of times, due to geopolitics, importing those pieces is next to impossible. If they can get an injection die (the hard part is getting a good, accurate die) like they have here, getting polyvinyl pellets and just running it this way would be sufficient for the area they live in. File off the flashing and then you have standard elbows that can be used in water delivery/effluent removal. Necessity is the mother of invention. Thinking about it, that elbow die is the most precious thing in that shop.

I don't think so. He's doing over 1 piece/minute=60 pieces/hr. This easy machine in a 16hrs working day is able to guarantee the wages of over 15 men working, as that certainly does not happen in developed countries.

Is True what you write ?? But at what cost 🤔 Modern Injection Moulding Machines can be very expensive. I doubt this whole village could raise enough money to even buy this one machine. As mentioned in the replies. They are doing well with this Humble set up. I to face the same constraints ?? I have a reasonably capable Machine Shop. But I do struggle at times to get the parts made that I require for my customers. IF I purchased the latest in CNC machines, I to could be more productive. Same scenario for me also. At what cost ?? I Need to produce A LOT of product each year just to break even. IF, I was younger maybe it could be viable to invest. Many things come into the thinking before investing in modern equipment. Just my thoughts 😉

@@weldmachine The entire point of modern machines is that they are more productive, otherwise they will not exist. Making PVC parts on a humble machine like the one in the video only makes sense because the government is placing big tariffs on imports. Those guys will be out of business on an open market. There is a reason why CNC machines are sold more than manual machines in the world, and the reason is higher productivity.

These comments about no safety standards that is how it was in the U S a hundred or more years ago. The unions had a lot to with there being safety standards set in place. I worked at a stamping and forging factory in Chicago in 1965 and there were not even pull straps on your wrists let alone two hand anti tie down controls on the presses you put the part in stepped on the foot pedal and wham the press did it's thing just had to be aware and keep your shit together numerous workers with missing digits but those things changed with the coming of OSHA
