I have one of these as well and I LOVE IT! I use the thick side to make my zucchini spaghetti. I saute the spaghetti on the stove in a frying pan (with a little bit of water) for about 3 minutes to get it nice and warm. Meanwhile, I heat up some sauce in the microwave (I prefer a spicy marinara). The zucchini spaghetti is still crispy and is a great substitute for your traditional spaghetti. To anyone that is skeptical of trying zucchini spaghetti (just as I was), buy this device and try it out!

I have a spiralizer which I prefer. You can use fruit and veg of different shapes and sizes, rather than just the phallic ones. But if you're short on space in your kitchen and you really like zucchini and carrots, the Veggetti isn't a bad choice!

I just tried mine today. It does work great. I bought one the other day. You should have seen it. It was at Walmart and I kept finding stuff for wine. I found it with the plastic cups. weird location. It works great. I made the thick cut today. Everyone was impressed. It is easy to use, easy to clean and pesto goes good with the. THe only downsize is how to cook the noodles. I never learned that. So I am testing and experimenting with that. hope you like yours

***** Just a little tip Jill. Don't cut the stalk end off the zucchini. Use that end to hold and as it pares down and is too short to hold safely, revert to using the safety top. It grabs onto the stalk effectively. You won't waste as much of the vegetable that way. Yes zucchini tastes totally different to pasta or noodles ... it's a no brainer. But for those who are diabetic and watching their carb intake, it's a tiny fraction of the dose of carb that spaghetti loads you with. Steam it for 2 minutes and you get that al dente texture and top it with your favourite sauce. I love it. Thanks for the review Jill.

The problem I have with it is that is wastes a lot of vegetable. The fist bit and the the end bit. When you fist put the veg in it slices short bits until it has the proper shape and at the end you are left with a piece of veg that you cannot push down with fingers or slice them. The top does not help as it still does the same.

I bought one at Bed, Bath & Beyond (20% discount) after having been featured in library cooking class. I advise cutting both ends off zucchini, & using safety holder when too short to handle directly. It's easy to clean with dedicated tooth brush I keep at kitchen sink. (You'll reach for it often.) Great to have a new toy!

Thank you for the great review. I've been using a julienne tool to make zucchini noodles, but I think I'd like to spiralize them so I will prob. buy a Veggetti thanks to your review. I didn't want a huge tool to do this- annoying to store. The Veggetti looks small enough to store easily. Next I'm gonna saute the noodles in a little bit of peanut sauce and add tofu. Yum.

The key is to hold it by the metal handles when you screw the vegetable in with the other hand. Wet veggie is slippery, so dry is better. Don't cut off the tip of your finger like I did on my wonderful mandoline!

how it is for other veggies? I know the most common one is zucchini - but for $15 it seems to make sense (for my family anyhow) to invest in a spiralizer that can do a variety of cuts is tempting, especially if this can't handle firmer veggies.. thoughts?

I received a Veggetti for Christmas. I used it for the first time last night with a zucchini on the thin side and put a hot tomato sauce over my "noodles". It was very easy to use, but the end cap that holds the vegetable in place did not work well for me. I'll use your tip the next time--removing the end of the zucchini. I'll also cook the zucchini in boiling water before eating. I have a spirilizer that I've only used once in the last two years. It takes up space in my pantry. The Veggetti is easier to use and store. I love the size.

Wegman's? are you from Western NY or Upstate NY? Anyhow, just used my Vegetti for the first time today and I lvoe it! I sauteed the zucchini in a little olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and added some green onions. I added some low cal marinara sauce, stirred it in, put it on a plate, added some more sauce on top, then added a little grated parmasan cheese. It was delicious!

Thank you. I can't use that with one hand so I don't have to buy it and try it and waste more money. Which is very nice.

Any recommendations on what to do with the reamining stump of zucchini? At 4:20 Little kitty cat is interested in having some zucchini pasta :)

***** Awesome, thank you. I just wasn't sure if what was left would even be enough to chop up, but I guess a few cubes or slices are better than nothing. Thanks again!

well, as a guy, I'm surprised you didn't/wouldn't push the limit and jam anything else in there (spoon, fork etc) to keep spinning the vegetable as far as you can go, without the little cap.

I saw this in CVS last night and am thinking of getting it. But, right next to this one on the shelf is the Veggetti Pro so, I'm weighing out which to get ($10 difference). This one seems so much simpler to use but, every video I've watched so far, people are only using zucchinis. I'm not a fan of zucchini and I was wondering if you've ever tried other vegetables in it like say, a pepper or a carrot or a potato? BTW, thanks for the review dear. It was nice to see it in action.

+Jill Stewardson Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yeah, it seems the Pro is more versatile.

I make "zoodles" all the time by using a julienne peeler than I paid $5 for which is a cheaper alternative. How much waste is there with the Veggetti? If you sautee your zoodles in a little olive oil & garlic for about 3-4 minutes, they are amazing. I almost like them better than regular pasta believe it or not!

I have one of these, and you can either do "veggie noodles" with a sauce, or multiple veg, etcetera, for a stir fry. I'm pretty sure you had already figured that out.
