Product Review: Do Aunt Jackie's products work? What I Bought & Will Never Buy Again. 4C dry hair

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

#AuntJackies #ProductReview #4CHair
This is one of my favourite brands for my natural African 4C kinky Coily hair. There are plenty products in their range and I’ve tried most of them, there are those that I will not buy again and those that I’ll always love if they don’t change the formula.
Catch me on Instagram @tisa_ntl
Products included in the review:
• ‘Knot on my watch’ detangler (Excellent detangler I relied on it a lot but I don’t feel I need it anymore I keep using it less and less)
• ‘Purify me’ co-wash cleaner (Excellent Co-wash Love it)
• ‘Coco wash’ coconut conditioning cleanser (Is not as great as the purify me co-wash and I don’t recommend it)
• ‘Seal it up’ Hydrating sealing butter (Something changed and I don’t recommend it)
• ‘Curl mane~ tenance’ Defining Curl Whip (I don’t recommend it)
• ‘Quench’ Leave- in conditioner (My favorite leave-in conditioner)
• Aunt Jackie’s natural growth oil blends (all oils in this range are lovely)

    What did you buy, you might still like the ones you bought, read the labels and try to use them correctly, shout if you need help though. Take note of what works for and what doesn’t so you know what not to buy next time

    The ‘seal it up’ butter used to work for me, I used to love it as much as ‘quench’ then something changed. I’m waiting for my ‘don’t shrink’ gel and I’ll use it and review it as well. It’s important to stick to what works for your hair and not over spend 🙂

    It’s really depressing, hence I also make these videos because I feel like there are so many hair types and some of these products seem to be made for a certain hair type more than the other regardless of what the label reads. Maybe stop buying and try finishing what you have.

    As your hair grows, it will require other products and some products will no longer work the same with your hair. It's not that the product is flawed, it's just that your hair may have grown out of the need for that product. This has happened to me many times. Kinky Curly Knot today doesn't do much for my hair when it's really short, but as it grows longer, the product really gives me benefits.

    I am a faithful user of the Flaxseed collection, lol. And the first time I purchased it, I used it almost exclusively for four months and my hair eventually started to misbehave. I know you don't like shampoos, but using a sulfate shampoo to clarify my hair, as a once off, was a great reboot for my hair, and it went back to acting right and accepting the Flaxseed products again. And to this day the Seal It Up is my holy grail moisturizer, lol. The Buttercreme from the coconut line is also AMAZING for setting styles

  • @chatwithtisa

    @chatwithtisa

    I agree, every now and then I think a reboot is needed, let’s call it a shampoo reboot ☺️ my hair seems to be loving conditioner but one of these faithful days I’ll use shampoo or just do a Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. Maybe I’ll give seal it up another try but it seems to already be replaced by the sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie. Do you use their oils as well?

  • @ChitaDiaries

    @ChitaDiaries

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@chatwithtisa If the Curl Enhancing Smoothie is working then definitely stick to that, lol 👍🏾 it's nice when our hair accepts something. As for Aunt Jackie's oils, yes, I use the Soft All Over to seal after styling. I have thin low porosity hair so it's a suitable light oil for me. I also use the E-Blast oil when I have long term protective styles to oil my scalp. That one I won't rave for too much but it gets the job done, lol.

    I have 4b/4a low porosity medium density fine strands and actually love the coco wash and the butter cream... The curl mantenace I find is more of a curling cream it creates definition whereas the seal it cream is more for moisture I feel. If I'm doing a wash and go I'd rather use the curl mantenace because the seal it is a bit heavy and doesn't give me that definition. The purify me cowash is absolutely terrible for my hair it dries my hair😭 I used to love the quench because of the smell and the slip until I realized it gives my hair crunch that other light weight leave ins don't

But I have to allow my hair to dry a bit because it’s usually still quite damp. It’s still my favourite after all these years.

    My hair used to give me that same migraine and to be honest it still somewhat does every now and then but over the years I’ve learned great ways to handle my dry low porosity hair that’s now soft most of the time. 1. Water, water, water specifically warm water daily I spray my hair with warm water before I do anything to it and the water keeps my hair soft, the water must be followed by oil ( I use olive oil a lot) 2. I wear a plastic bag to bed every night and I made two videos about that, this method is here to stay it just WORKS for low porosity dry hair ✨ it’s magic in a plastic bag 3. I never use shampoo, I wash with conditioner now not even a cowash 3. Get a good whipped Sheabutter and good olive oil at the supermarket 4. Detangle once a week 5. I wash my hair only once a month but I wet it almost every day. Our hair loves water 💦 Feel free to ask if you need anymore help.
