Good hack with the cloth tape on the ratchet slide pin. I returned mine for the too easy to slip out pin.
I just picked these up and one of the welds looks ok so I'm going to contact them about it. Good idea on the cloth tape for the pin!

If you do not have a garage, I highly recommend purchasing an aluminum floor jack. The current floor jack I'm using is steel and its heavy to carry around (100+lbs).
