I have a 10ish year old Creature deck that I skated for about a year before I "retired". It was then used to move engines and transmissions and car wheels and tires around the garage, until it found itself as shelf for a few years. My son wanted it, loves the Creature brand, so I regripped it and put new wheels and bearings and it is alive again skating with my son.

When I was younger, I really wanted a skateboard but my parents couldn't afford one. So one morning, I woke up early and went to the garage. I got some wood and some nails... And beat my parents to death. My foster parents bought me 5 skateboards.
