Today’s lesson is how to replace shorted LED lights without turning off power and electrocuting yourself 50 times because we don’t care about safety

It is only 12/24v DC. If that manages to kill you, you deserve it. You don't need to turn off power for such a low voltage. However I am not using the connectors for corners, you just need to give it a little bit extra length on the corner to complete the turn (don't tape led on top another led, it will not disperse the heat well). Since led strips are usually hidden behind something, noone will see it.

@Rynergee Still it's bad practice to cut into something Electrical that is live Regardless if it's Extra low voltage ( 30V or less) or not.

Для нормальных людей советую обрезать выключенную ленту так как есть риск спалить всё остальное путём замыкания плюса и минуса металлическими ножницами.

​@valentina 26.09.81 Dда ни просто таким образом решили пропиарить свои коннекторы. Он хоть и работал с низковольтной лентой, но видимо керамические ножницы, КЗ не дремлет. Не знаю как у вас такая длина ленты сгорела, когда максимум через 5 метров параллелишь питание.

Nothing will happen. The LED is powered by DC low voltage. You can hold it with bare hands

The power supply and led-controller just love to get shorted by scissors… I‘d put a link here for more powerful led-stripes, but I‘m afraid, you might electrocute yourself…

Still a good idea to turn off. Scissors are metallic so they short out the supply when cutting. Even if it is brief it can damage the supply or even melt the traces in the LED strip.
