The only reason why I wasn't really happy to see them perform this song on Jimmy's show is that it's a cover. A great one, sure, the song is good, but their own songs are so much more interesting. And their songs in Italian will always be superior

Look I get it, but I honestly think they enjoy writing english songs and they wanna be well known worldwide which is way more likely to happen if they have at least some english bangers. And they know it and seem happy to adapt.

The very reason they managed to appear on Jimmy Fallon is the fact that one of their songs is topping the US charts and streaming platforms. Of all their excellent songs, it happened to be a cover by mere chance, due to it having gone viral thanks to social media (and probably exactly because it was an already known song by American songwriters), after they won Eurovision in May, and got international visibility, so people searched their previous works from when they were known only within their country. Their own songs are indeed superior, and those in Italian even more so. But the music industry on the international level conditions the general taste of the audience to prefer music in English, and coming from the English speaking countries... therefore Beggin'. But what's most important is that Maneskin got some great exposure with this performance in a new market. People know how to google and use Spotify and other streaming services, and they'll search for other works. Next time they're on an American talk-show with a national reach, they'll sing their original songs, maybe even in Italian, and maybe even without the "bad" words beeped out 😜

Maneskin got this song as a task to perform during an episode of XFactor Italy where they partecipated 4 years ago. They made it so well that they decided to record it for their first album Chosen togethet with many other covers they made during the show. Four years later, after their victory in the European Song Contest, people began to dig into their previous works and discovered this one making a hit out of it.

@@onomatopoetisk That's true, but also that was just a weekly entry for X-Factor. They even performed a short version of it for the show. It was prepared in one week, for the show. (What I mean by that: 50% of the time you focus on the music, 50% on the performance for the judges, the show you have to put on). Nobody could have foreseen that four years later it would become no.1 on spotify global. Even Damiano said they're not particularly proud of it, every time they listen to it they find things they could have done better. That's why the live version is so much better. Also, the EP "Chosen" was self-produced mostly. Production quality is as low as the budget was. The recording sounds bad compared to today's standards. It's entirely possible they litteraly would sound better in this live performances just due to production. Even the mixing is superior. If you listen back to back to this and the studio version you'll notice how the drums are much more dynamic here. And you have to combine that with the fact they have reharsed and performed the song a hundred times by now.

Actually is not because they nade it well, each one of the finalists gets the EP collecting their covers and original song from the show, it's not a big effort from Sony considering they didn't even improved the recording, It still amazes me how this song could have done so well considering how it came out but I guess TikTok people don't care about quality too much (I am not referring to Maneskin performance which is good, only on the quality of the recording).

I don't know. I've heard him speak English. He's pretty fluent. His English is better than my Spanish and I've managed to sing along to several Spanish songs with rap segments like this. If he didn't speak English as well as he does, I'd agree. But he already speaks it quite well.

oh yes, I, as a Russian, have been learning English at school/college like.... for 10 years? (will not raise the topic of our "wonderful"(no.) education, but as a fact) and tried to teach rap in English. despite the fact that my pronunciation is +- normal, it's very difficult to pronounce it all in normal way... dont wanna say anything about Italian, he-he, I can't even learn "vent'anni" properly, let alone any "lividi sui gomiti", although the pronunciation of Italian is much closer to russian than English... so, RESPECT TO DAMIANO.🤧✨✨✨

​@@ElianaTortorici oh, just the sounds and pronunciation themselves, I meant "x) you know, our growling "r", and.... in Italian, at least, the letters are not swallowed simply because "why not", and the transcription of words can be written in Cyrillic... In general, in my opinion, the pronunciation of Italian will be closer. the same English "th" "ght" and "w" are not present. but Italian sounds, of course, 2039804 times more beautiful than ours. I've heard that even the Germans consider Russians rude and harsh, heh... I don't really like our language, but it's kind of diverse, and "conveys depression like no other", haha🗿🚬

Their song "Coraline" and "I wanna be your slave" are amazing.

This band is apocalyptic....great instrumental,great voice,shocking performance,fresh and sexy as hell....🤯

They released “Teatro d’Ira Vol. I” early this year and in December the new album “Volume II” should also be ready!! You can also try and listen to “Chosen” the album released soon After X-Factor in 2018 and “Il ballo della vita” in which they experimented different styles. After that they went to London with the intention to focus on rock music and found out their own style. And they released Teatro d’ira. 🙃😉

I believe one of their secrets is that they come from the streets. They have busked together for years (even though they are so young). They have built their band the old, solid way, by playing together day after day for a long time.

Until I saw the EMA Awards a couple of nights ago I had never heard of Maneskin. Now I can't get enough.

I saw them on SNL and have been obsessed ever since. I love their style, and yes it's that old school glam look!

you should watch their evolution throughout xfactor from audition to finale! they grow so much so fast, they also had an incredible well fitted judge for their genre who helped a lot shaping their form. you could tell they were stars since the audition

my biggest flex is that I went to their first ever concert after xfcator, my biggest regret is I didn't buy merchandise form that day lol

So happy to see actual musicians bringing good music back. I'm tired of all the voice enhanced bs you hear on a daily basis. I've been watching Maneskin's KZread channel and I've yet to hear a bad song and I'm sure I'll have a hard time finding one! Great review, spot on.

Oh don't worry about that Blake because you're not the only one obsessed and since they've been performing this live for a few years now like since you know when they first covered it on the X Factor Italia show the inflections that have snuck in tiny ones over the years have only made this cover better and and you'll hear it from Damiano's voice, even Ethan's drumming and Thomas and Vic on their guitars; it's ALL better than it was when they started doing this cover, three or four years ago. I have worked with Bowie and a lot of other bands you would know. i agree with everything you have said. The band just has it. Once in a while a front man comes along Freddie Mercury,, Michael Hutchence and now Damiano David. These people own it and its about time. @@neobrand1845 you are right, hateful wasn't the right word, I couldn't find a fitting one (English isn't my first language). Accusing or aggressive maybe? That's how it comes across to me. It is about the tone, you know. And I definitely disagree about recommending being hateful. But my whole point was not to fight and spread negativity in the comments. I love discussing opionions in a respectful manner but attacking other viewers or content creators makes this a negative and scary space which is a pity. TPWK and all that.
