This is my favorite Niall album don’t get me wrong Heartbreak Weather was amazing like really good but this one is better it has more acoustic guitar which is my favorite instrument

flicker is honestly one of my favorite albums not just cuz niall wrote it but it has so much emotion and passion i love it.

Niall once said that the reason his vocals on slow hands cut like that is this specific type of mic he used it doesn't pick up certain frequencies or notes! It's an old fashioned mic I think I'm not sure what the name of it was tho I'd have to find the interview again

Some songs you could react to by Niall is “Champagne Lovers” “Dress” “Nothing” “Wasted.” Also you need to hear Niall and Fletcher’s cover of Lover by Taylor Swift. Black and White stripped too. I have to be honest and I preferd "Heartbraker Weather" but this album was a surprise from Niall. But if you have the oportunity to listent this production but the RTÉ Concert Orchestra puff it´s beautiful!!! I'm sure you will love it.

Flicker deserved better

I always find I like Niall's live versions far better than the studio version. Especially On The Loose, I didn't like the song too much on the album but then I heard it live & it became one of my favorites. I find his voice is a little more produced on albums than it needs to be but I think it's more a preference thing for me. There's more emotion & rawness live & I just prefer that style.

I haven't listened to the album versions of most of the songs for a long time because I always listen to the RTE Orchestra version. I forgot how much production there was. The live versions appeal to me so much more. Anything where there's a stripped version, I always go for that over the album.

It's down to mood for me. His two albums are so apples to oranges that it's hard for me to say I prefer one over the other. I'm gonna get southern California here: Flicker is Laguna Beach and HW is Malibu and LA. One's a little more boho, and the other is more cool and crisp, but they both share that sun kissed shoreline vibe. I mean, take Since We're Alone & New Angel: They're both sun on your face, top down, wind in your hair vibes that are just different towns on the same highway. I couldn't pick one over the other. I think that's the brilliance of Niall's music. There's a progression, and a shift in overall tempo, but there's no doubt that it all came from the same soul. 😁👍

There's actually an acoustic version of Seeing Blind with Maren, Niall and Gerry Morgan in a recording studio in Nashville that's pretty darn sweet.

Every song on this album is SHEER GOLD. Also your pointing out the similarity to Five For Fighting made me realize why I love Niall's sound so much - songs by them and Train and Matchbox Twenty are what I grew up on!

THANK YOU for doing this. I was feeling a bit orphan-y after I finished watching the reacts of Made in the A.M., Midnight Memories, Heartbreak Weather and Walls (wow, suddenly I realized I've seen your face far too many hours in these past weeks hahaha)

Favourite lyrics on this album is on Since We're Alone... "if you get lost in the light it's ok I can see in the dark" c'mon, that's perfection. Flicker was something I wasn't expecting out of Niall. And as much as I like Harry's self-titled, Flicker was hands down the best debut album out of the two. Fine Line takes the title of sophomore album though, as much as I also like Heartbreak Weather. These two are really good. Saw them both live and can't wait to see them again next year. Always love you reactions man. Well done.

you should listen to So Long by Niall! It was not released on his albums, but performed it live on tour. He made a studio version at the RTÉ Radio Studio 1 in Dublin.

It´s still on top for me. He will never top this beautiful and outstanding boy of work. After all this years it hasn´t aged a bit. I will never forgive everyone for not letting this be as successful as it should´ve been. My top three after all this years is still: This Town, Too Much To Ask and Flicker. I love Heartbreak Weather tho but it didn´t top this masterpiecec imo.

I love Flicker. When slow hands came out I was on class and I went to the bathroom to listen to it and I remember being SO EXCITED good days

Also i love both hbw and flicker :flicker is an album with folky rocky roots mostly inspired by 70's hbw:is an album with rocky popy roots at some points has indie flavor that mostly inspired by 80's musics

Paper houses was recorded in an empty room. I cant find the clip of the BTS of when he recorded it...but i think i remember him doing that. He was in an attic ...it was so cool

When that "Don't it feel f***** up we're not in love" line came up and Blake was just like YEAH I LOVE THAT LINE. SAMEEEEE I FEEL YOU BLAKE ✊💯

Harry may write the most interesting songs, but Niall's are the most beautiful. I also think, of all the boys, Niall's vocals are the most improved (from X-Factor). He has an incredibly open chest voice and even his head voice rarely sounds nasal or strained. His voice just has this rich, velvety quality that makes you feel like you've been wrapped up in a warm blanket.
