this was a really great analysis! if you don't know, seventeen are actually a self-produced group. member woozi is their main writer and producer, but all of the members have been involved in writing lyrics at some point or another and some of the other members have been involved in composing for some songs. woozi actually won the best producer award last year at the Asia Artist Awards I'd love to see you react to more seventeen! i recommend darling, home, left & right, and don't wanna cry (really I'd like to recommend all their music. I myself am not super knowledgeable about the ins and outs of music production, which is why I love breakdowns like these, but lots of people have said woozi has a distinct producing style that you can hear throughout seventeen's songs. I'd like to see what you make of that lol. once again, i really enjoyed the reaction and breakdown!

The one thing that aggravated me about this reaction the most was when you called Jun the auto tune guy. Jun does not need auto tune he is extremely talented vocally live. Woozi the producer who is also a Seventeen member throws auto tune is as more of an effect. Seventeen is self producing and have been since debut in 2015 they are the second biggest selling Korean Pop group of all time with BTS being the #1 group. Also Woozi won Producer of the year in 2021 at the Asian Artists Awards. I feel a lot of people have issues with thinking auto tune means they are covering up flaws in a singers vocal capability which in this particular case just isn't true.

Seventeen has 13member. Seventeen has the most fair line distribution in the industry even though they have 13 members.

for 19:50 I think seventeen is one of a few band where the group's image brand is waaaay more popular than the individual's image. Unlike what you said about one direction's fans favoritism is Harry, in Seventeen their fields are kind of different from one to another, like Woozi who is more focus in producing, Seungkwan who is more focus in variety show, Dokyeom in musical, Mingyu in modelling, Jun The 8 widening their career in china, etc. And I think these differences make everyone shine in different way and didn't overlap with each other. Hence, carats become pretty much support them equally since their fields of interest are diverse. And regarding the 'Solo', none of the seventeen member really make a 'Solo' releases as a long term individual activity like any other group, mostly they were only doing it as a mixtape or side tracks. In addition, i think another reason why it is really hard to have favorite in Seventeen is because they give the fairest amount of line distribution, each of individuals receive the same amount of opportunity to showcase their abilities and they genuinely support each other like a family without any jealousy

interesting, that's really cool that they are masters in different areas. It's amazing when a group can work together as a family.

Seventeen has 13 members and debuted 7 years ago, and they just renewed their contract (all 13 members) for another term, so they will all be around together as a group for a long time. (however, several of them will have to do the obligatory military enlistment, so that will shake things up a bit, but the 2 Chinese members and Joshua, the Amercian member, won't have to do that). As others have said, the member with the neon yellow hair, Woozi, is the main writer and producer for the group. They have been writing/producing/choreographing their own stuff since they were teens pre-debut. He just turned 26 and won the best producer award at AAA last year. He does a great job distributing the lines between all the members. He plays around a lot with different genres/styles/structures, so you never really know what you're going to get. Their discography (especially the early stuff) is very upbeat 'freshteen' fun, but they have also done darker electronic concepts, club banger/anthems, jazzy retro music, and summer-vibe sort of songs. You can't really pinpoint their style because it's always changing. Several members have done solo projects (ex: Woozi: 'Ruby', Hoshi: 'Spider' and 'Tiger' and Jun: 'LIMBO' etc) , and within the group there are 3 subunits (hiphop, performance, vocal) and each of them have unit songs also.

I really liked your breakdown of the song, and that you pointed out how the producers (Woozi here) do their best to show off the personality/brand of each member. I'd love to see you analyze their other song "Home". It has a very interesting structure imo and it's very minimal production-wise but super effective emotionally. I'd love to hear your take on it and explain how they manage to do that.

Thanks Logan. I really enjoyed your knowledge. The funny thing about Seventeen is that there are 13 members and they all can do everything--vocals, rap and performance (dance). And their music is very versatile, so many genres. I wish you could see more of them thru this form or on your own.

I really enjoyed your breakdown of the production. Some of the other stuff started feeling a little personal but only because how well I know Seventeen. However in most cases you are right so I can't get mad at you about it. Seventeen has been together for a long time. Some as far back as 10yrs or more. Their debut was pushed off 3 or 4 times. They were the first ever kpop group to debut as a fully self producing group. They could really do everything for themselves from advertising to styling, choreography and music production etc. Now they even have those who can produce mvs. Many of them do represent brands etc. They are at a stage where they can kinda choose some of the work they do. Also as a group their albums have some of the most equal line distribution. Not always per song but spread out on the album. Woozi is the main producer but many members contribute to lyrics and some will also help with production. They have always been mostly fair but since re-signing they have been extremely fair. These guys are known by many to have a special bond and are an exception to sticking together through everything. Anyway, I'm glad you like the song. Woozi is great at surprising us. He is always doing unpredictable things with his music. He had the best understanding of his members voices also. He does vocal producing with them and I also love the way he arranges the voices in songs as if they are part of the instrumental.

Hahahah you’ll be surprised by how many lines the “you know what to do you know what to do” guy actually have, maybe you want to check their lyrics distribution video to actually know how they split the lines 😂 there are 13 members in this group but surprisingly they always split the lines fair and that’s because everyone is very talented, everyone in this group can be the spotlight it just depend on which song they performed. Thank you for this breakdown, it’s really nice watching professionals getting technical. I’m not really knowledgeable about music, but my favorite detail in the song is that specific instrumental sequence in the prechorus transitioning to the chorus. There’s something there (idk how to describe it) that leads into a coin flipping sound (matched the MV as well) that leads into the chorus. And it can only be heard twice, during the 1st prechorus and the bridge. I found it interesting that it happened in the bridge and not in the 2nd chorus.

I don't know if you were already informed but the main producer and songwriter of every Seventeen's song is Woozi, the little blond one who sang immediately after the opening of the door. You said somethimg about emotions: he is a master at communicating emotions through his music. Since your a song writer and producer can you please react to Home, All my love, To you and Thank you. I liked this reaction I enjoy analysis videos so I would like to hear your take about those songs especially All my love And about Jun the guy you called the "autotune guy" he has a nice voice you can check out his solo LIMBO. And Dino the guy you said that has two lines "You know what to do, yeah, you know what to do" actually has more than that. Both Jun and Dino are part of Performances Unit. Seventeen has 5 vocal members( Vocal Unit) , 4 rappers(Hip Hop Unit) and 4 dancers(Performance Unit) but the most interesting thing is all 13 members are singers, rappers and dancers that's why SVT are called the perfomance kings
