Makers are a bit stuck on fetish copies of museum pieces. Unlike guitars which are allowed to develop. A repeatable stable material like Bakelite can be fine honed and tuned to retain properties. Session recorder players use customised Dolmetsch's.

I really like to see true craftsmanship. It's a dying art in my country of Sweden. I'm doing a lot of construction work myself on my house. I also like to do sculptures and similar things with my knife. Never get tired of watching others do the magic in their workshops. Nicely done! Beautiful playing as well.

Absolutely beautiful and whatever they cost, worth every cent because with care, such an instrument will never wear out or crumble away. A few old organs have some pipes left that were made in the early 16th C.

His turning skills are great, and the instruments they make are excellent, but the fact that he still has a hand is shocking. Never wear gloves while operating equipment that spins, kids.

Why's it so? Do the gloves make the wearer's hand more prone to get sucked in to the equipment?

@@msftexcel For exactly that reason. If the glove gets caught, it literally gets sucked in with such force that you cannot react in any way.

Especially the gloves with grip like that, try running hand over to feel it and grip takes over instead of sliding under fingers

The whole workshop us a disaster. The calipers on moving parts and reaming headstock. Wtf! This guy was an amateur self taught I reckon. He also tunes just by blowing which a pro does using a bellows supply so as not to bend the notes. Or leave dribble up the spout. Nice little summary of the basic idea of making though. Not exactly a Korean traditional instrument. The client decides so the last clip should have had a pro player try it out. It sounded out if tune and like a school kid.
