Gentlemen, congratulations! That was the most complete, well-filmed, and educational documentary I have ever seen. Whether for storage drums or ANY OTHER PRODUCT, it is a documentary video to be proud of and should be shown to every Mechanical Engineering graduate. It was easy to completely follow every stage in the process, and that is something I have never seen before. Even the fellow who rolled the finished product together at the end was careful to align the barrels "just right". Thank you for your effort.

The name of the company is "DAIKAN" from Osaka... "DAI" in Japanese means big, and "KAN" means "can", so the company is called "Big Cans". Speciallist in metalyc drum creating. Simple, straight, effective... 100% Japanese.

Bright barrels. In our village we made such a pool. A multifunctional thing 😁😁😁😁
Япония страна качества и гарантии. Мы их точно никогда ничем не удивим и не догоним в технологии и производстве.
Thanks, that production line is a thing of beauty. Here in the UK we used to call them 45 Gallon drums, but now 205 L. I was a Chemical engineer and spent many a happy hour with drum handling kit, these guys make it look so easy, but it is not easy. Kudos to the engineers who designed all that bespoke kit.

Kualitas barang hasil produksi jepang memang tidak di ragukan lagi. Jepang memang luar biasa. 👍
A perfectly orchestrated mechanical ballet produced by many thousands of hours of engineering and testing to create a simple drum that we take for granted, see and have all around the world. This is how the human race can interact, produce and use our brains to make a better life. We DO NOT NEED WARS, we need to work together. This is just so interesting. Well done from me in Australia.

This was so amazing and intriguing to see this whole process of making drums seem so fluid and effortless. WOW. I just feel sorry for the guy inspecting the inside of the barrels - how many times a day does he have to bend forward and look into drums? He must have abs of steel. The Japanese sure know how to make stuff.

I laughed the other day when someone told me that a bicycle was hand-made in London. What part of this process would be improved if it had been done by hand rather than by machine. Hand-made should today be seen as a declaration of inferiority rather than superiority. This drum making process is beautiful.

Nice video, thanks. This caused me to research the history of the (oil) barrel standard measure, which is interesting: August 31, 1866, PA USA - King Richard III's English wine tierce became the American standard oil barrel, bbl (42 US Gallons / 35 Imperial gallons). While the barrel as a unit of measurement for oil is 42 gallons, actual barrels used in industry are typically 55 US gallons (208 L). They are called 210 litre or 200 kg drums outside the United States.
@processx

Thanks for the explanation. The drum can in the video has a capacity of 200L
@t5ruxlee210

@@processx The litre is approximately 10% more than the American "Old English" quart and 10% less than the later implemented (1826) "British Imperial" quart. One of the reasons for introducing the Imperial measure was to thwart some Canadians and Americans who smuggled banned American agricultural products into Canada and then simply labeled them as Canadian. The falsely labelled packaged foodstuffs were then shipped to Great Britain where a lower duty was charged on them compared to the same items grown and imported from other non colony countries. So, after 1826 when British Imperial became the law, the smugglers faced the additional costly step of finding new legal containers and then repackaging their goods for shipment.

This is like 150 year old tech. In a mod plant the Guillo slides with the material cutting on the go. The coil never stops moving until is runs out. 5 ton coil, under 45 mins.
