    Sometimes, people say that you can't see the forest through the trees...thank you for reminding some of us that we're just not looking for answers in the right places. The kitty cats deserve a big bowl of milk for jobs well done across Hickory Ridge. 🚜Thanks for taking us with you on this project and for sharing the eight fur babies; it will be fun watching the kids grow. (Pyr puppies are the cutest, sweetest balls of white fluff who will grow up to be big dogs with equally big hearts and souls.) At the end of a 107 degree day (heat index), we enjoyed spending our evening with you. We appreciate the heavy equipment and their operators who helped build America, one road at a time. Thanks for the message. May the Lord bless you and keep you and your viewers safe. Mike&Pat

    Nice work. Love watching the dozer cut and push. Question; have you ever done a video showing/explaining the engineering aspect of a road, grades, slopes, crown, drainage etc? For example how you decide how to handle runoff from a higher slope. What you do to keep trash from washing down. Does all the overburden pushed down just stay there? Are your roads subject to county inspection, are there industry standards you have to maintain. I’ve heard you touch a little on it, but only briefly. I.e. Your last big road had some washout repairs you had to address. Thanks for sharing. Not expecting an answer here, just thought it might be a good subject to go into on a video. On a side note, I never hear you belittle or trash talk other people. I like that about your channel.

  • @tristardiggin

    @tristardiggin

    5 күн бұрын

    Thanks and I really enjoy watching dozers work too! 😀 I try to touch on those things you mentioned as I go through the road builds but could probably be a little more detailed on some of it. There are no inspections for private roads/ driveways except for where it meets a county or state road. The biggest deciding factor on a road/driveway is the budget. Some folks want the bare minimum and other want a really well built road. The challenges are different on each new road too. That is why I like them so well, it’s never the same thing. It’s cool that you noticed that I don’t run folks down in the video because I don’t enjoy that when other folks are doing it. Thanks, Sam

    Man, that is some loose or sandy looking topsoil you scraped off with the root mat. I'm surprised you haven't hit rock yet ( I hope I don't jinx you). Looks like it's turning out great, though. I can't wait to see the conclusion. More important than road building, I had to tell you about one of my retired fireman buddies. He does lawn care/maintenance and has a 96 y/o customer. He said for about 3 months, the Lord has been burdening him about this lady. He couldn't figure out why, so this past week when he was finished with her yard, he took a few minutes to sit and talk with her. It turns out that the Lord has been burdening her too, and she was asking my friend about his upbeat attitude and why he's always joyful. He told her about his past life and how God had changed his life. She started crying and told him that she wanted that too. He got his Bible out of his truck and showed her how she could be saved. She's going to be baptized this coming Sunday. God made a way and is still working in this old world. I thought it went along with your message pretty well. Thanks for sharing Sam.

    You're doing a good job, Sam. You might want to get your track adjustment cover bolted back down soon. It'll fill up with dirt and destroy your seals, besides making it a rough day to tighten the track. Plus, you missed a bolt on your belly pan. You are definitely getting much better on making a road and much quicker than the last one. It's great to see some red clay in the road. Hopefully, you had a great 4th of July as well.

    I really enjoy watching you run the Dozer. Even after a full day myself, it is relaxing. Thanks for all you do! Phil @diggindeeperpcg
