Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This has been the result of playing around trying to get a better way to have a beveled object and looking at the positives and negatives of the different options.

😁 Let us know how it goes.
Rounded edges also add physical durability. Sharp corners are more prone to impact damage than those with even a slight roundover. This is true in both woodworking and in designing 3d printed parts!

Very good call, and I wonder how much of a reason that is for the plastic shapes too. Great point 👌🏼
Thank you very much. Learned new things as always on your chanel.

Thanks Chameleon
in the last example, using the bevel modifier in weight mode you can achieve more control where you want in the model (limited but in some cases a plus). EDIT COMMENT TEST 😂. Sorry for deleting the check on the gear video (there was a like and and answer), AV I hope that didn't hurt you. But the issue is still there: I can't put a comment and here I can't put an answer on your answer, so I try this. (I can delete this part later).

That's a good call. For this I was trying to find something more generic that doesn't require much tinkering to make work once set up. But that is a good option.
Thanks for the video!

Experiment with the different Geometry settings in the bevel modifier, they're there to help with the inner corner geometry you didn't like

I am aware, there's even a video on it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIlnyLRpity2pKg.html Unfortunately in many situations they don't work/function in a way that means they will always work, where as this solution will. So this works as a more generic solution allowing you to start making your shape without having to then tinker.
Great video, as always. Short, on point, and useful. I do have one small question, that is way off topic, but no one in the Blender forums/discord seems to know an answer. When using Blender 4.1 and I import an .stl file into a scene that I have been working on, each and every one that gets imported is set to 'auto-smooth'. I don't want the things to be set to auto-smooth, so I right click and set them to 'shade flat'. Someone told me that I can do this as a batch command for the entire scene, which is great, I guess, but I do not want Blender to assume that I want every stinking thing that I import in to be set to auto-smooth. Is there some setting somewhere that tells Blender to stop doing this crap? Again, I get it, I can simply set the things to shade flat... but why is there not an obvious way to make Blender do it by way of some global setting? Is it a huge deal? No, not really. Is it SUPER ANNOYING to me? Yes, very much so.

I totally hear you. I hate it and there are other functions that seem to automatically also set autosmooth on. I'd love to be able to turn it off but as this point I don't know of a way to. If you do find out how PLEASE let me know it really is an annoying way of time so I totally get where you are coming from.
Any idea when the next BlenderMarket sale is?
