You need a sharper knife and it would cut fine

Squatch rope looks legit and more cost effective as well.

Watched your review, appreciate you reviewing both products. I too would purchase the Black Beard over the Procamptek. I suggest you invest in a better lighter.. : ).....

I would say for the issues you have going in to it you did a good job. As some have said the knife could be a lot sharper but not everyone will be out there with a sharp knife. I had to turn the volume off because of the loud chewing going on but that is also a bad pet peeve of mine. I use the black beard rope as part of my bushcraft tinder box but I also have some of it already cut up so it packs in smaller. As a future advice maybe go at a project like this with some already prepared to cut back on time as well as make things much easier on yourself.

Good advice. I think the chewing was my camera operator. I have had a discussion about it. Should not happen again. As for the knife issue, I have been acquiring knives and have bought almost $1600 worth. As soon as my broken arm is healed up, I plan on getting some videos done.

I have used Black Beard and if it's windy the fibers tend to blow all over the place.

I have to say that living in Montana, we get a slight breeze now and then (you know, 20-30mph). I am going to have to make a video when we have those kinds of breezy conditions. Thanks for the info and idea!!💡

I understand your wrists hurt cutting, procamptek will slide out super easy from the cardboard.. and your knife looks my god, make a video with a dull knife really.. Procamptek number 1 fire starter.. You should try there new fast fire stick you mite change you mind..

Yes, I am planning to revisit it in a future video. I have thought about this one and realized that I didn't give Procamptek a fair chance. But, then again, if I had to get a fire and I only have a dull knife, well, the Black Beard Fire starter was the better choice. I will use a very sharp knife next time. Believe me, I still love Procamptek products. Thanks for your opinion. It is appreciated.

@@redneckgimpreview Sorry its just ive never heard of anyone says they rather use something else then procamptek lol.. There new Fast Fire Stick is amazing, I think in your condition it mite be a better choice but also comes in cardboard, of course I had to cut it for my 5year old but he started his first fire aweek ago with fire steel on with the new stuff.. Im canadian and not trying to make you pick over America or Canadian products, cause u guys make some better stuff then us aswell, just this fire starters i can honestly say best I've ever tried..

@@bryonc3464, I actually have some Fast Fire sticks and a Fire Strip roll heading this way. I also have a bag of blades that I have acquired in anticipation for a couple of new videos. :-)

Man, you gotta get a different knife and a better lighter! Assuming that you used up both ropes, did your opinion change at all?

You are right. I do have plans to revisit these with multiple knives to see what might work best for me. I'm recovering from a concussion so I'm behind in my videos that I wanted to make. Have plans to do that in a couple weeks.

Took 15 minutes until you actually got the test underway. 15 minutes. Its a disservice to others to waste time like that. Edit the video next time or get everything right before you start. Also the camera is so far away from the test that you can't really see the fires. I appreciate the effort, but damn thats 15 minutes of my life I can't get back.

Well, I am just starting out. Also, I am using my phone to record the videos and I am learning as I go. Sorry you're not happy about the way I did this video but I did the best I could at the time. Constructive criticism is great and appreciated. Sarcastic criticism is not appreciated. But, I will take what you think into consideration.
