Beautiful 👍🏼 Would love you to do a walk through and show the interior, also would love to know about the history of this proa when he was built etc.

Well, I take that as a motivation to make a video about the interior. Hopefully will follow soon. Fotos are already available on the webside mareinoa.de. About the history: The boat was designed by Othmar Karschullin und the hull was built by a warft. The interior and all the optimisation was done by myself.

Alex

To be honest, that was my fear at the beginning too. But the risk is not that big. It happened only if we clowned around. And then things happen very slowly. In that case we release the sheets, let the boat drift back and put the helm until it is on the old bow again. In normal conditions it did not happen for 8 years and 4000 nm. But the last option would be to move back with the motor. Of course, theoretical there is the danger of a dramatical wind shift which indeed would be a rist for the rig. To minimize this, we tilted the mast to leeward, which increases the angle mast top/stay and improves the diagram of forces. But even Russ Brown and Ryan Finn, who sailed thousends and thousends of miles, do not report of such a severe situation.

@@manfredmeier1731 Aloha Manfred This is Tim Mann, did you get my long comment I left here? I get your emails, but mine to you are blocked for some reason. I spent a half hour answering all your questions but my email was blocked by some stupid server between us. Then, I pasted the same answers in a comment here, but never saw you respond. Do you have another email address I can try?

@@manfredmeier1731 And they were able to get CE comliance? I am thinking about the similar project, but got scared on mention of regulatory compliance. Do you know what measures they had to take?

@@sasamad2000 They had absolutely no problems to get CE compliance, may be because it was a certified company.. But to be hondest, no idea. But if you built the boat buy your own, you do not have to meet the CE requirements - as far as I know. What we did was to ask for a IMCI-Certificat, but that was just in addition and just for the design and not for the assembly.
