Sean Acosta Surg was using emotes at the first minute of the match when both were waiting. Surg was salty that Tag did that because Surg was obviously keeping this light hearted. Dont you think that it’s weird that he’d be quiet right until the end? He wasn’t even responding after each matches.

Its not BM if 1 minute has passed and no one has made a move. BM is sending a emote or quote out to the person who is losing to get them upset. If no one has made a move 1 min into the game, then its not BM because no one is losing.

Definitely a bad reaction from surg this week... Sure it sucks for him that he got a matchup disadvantage most games... But he isn't afraid to throw out some "BM" when he's winning so I don't know what he's whining about. I guess when you get ranked number 1 for a year+ it's hard to accept any losses. This was probably good for him. Yes surg, you can lose. And yes surg, you will get "BM"d. But chill out and take the loss like a man. Get him on the inevitable rematch in a few weeks. And to Tag, thanks for coming on and asserting dominance. We know you weren't too keen and I for one appreciate your appearance on it. Yup, I’ve noticed that too. In his own videos on his YT channel he makes a point to end his matches with “gg, wp & thumbs up” and no BM’ing during. Just watch his vids before the new emotes were introduced. Yet when I see matches of him from elsewhere like this video he’s not that respectful at all. Definitely a difference. I just watch his channel for the gameplay itself, while I watch Tags vids cos he gives a better commentary on the game and is overall a better teacher of the game.

@@jenghiz Everyone gets salty once in a while. Surg tries his best to appeal to his audience; being salty is a sure way to repel your viewers. But in this 1v1 specifically, Surg got hard-countered in all the matchups, and still managed to make it a close game. I would be pretty pissed if I were Surge as well. It is better not to judge an entire person's character off of a small incident.

​@@jenghiz He tries to be family-friendly so he can attract an audience on his main channel, but in real life, he does not always give the "Good game, well played, and the thumbs-up." He just mostly acts like other players, emoting a little after a win. Personally, I do not mind the contrast between his behaviour on the channel and his behaviour on CRL. It isn't too big of a difference, and most other KZreadrs act more family-friendly on their channel than in real life, too.

Surg commenting on Tag’s BMing is a bit much, considering he BM’d after winning a match just before. Ggs to both, they are the only 2 besides this channel that I’m subbed to for CR and happy they finally got a chance to duke it out here.

“Have the matchup” is a salty way to say chose a losing deck. CR starts with choosing the best deck you can. I guess I can blame every single loss of mine on “not having the matchup” and say every emote is “BM”.

They werent playing any “losing decks”.Its just that some decks counter others better and this is a fact.

no lol. "having the matchup" means the one that "has the matchup" is a good deck to counter the one the opponent is using. 3 musk is a good matchup against lavaloon because the musks will wreck their lavaloon push. that doesn't mean lavaloon is a bad matchup in anyway tho

Im nowhere near being a competetive player or understanding the meta, but i think that one way of thought would be comparing the winrates of each player's decks matched against opponents individual decks. And then adding the winrates up and comparing, which player is statistically better. Simpler and maybe or maybe not more objective way would be just putting decks toe to toe and telling which deck is more likely to win. Then this deck has lets say one point. So if Surgical's deck no.1 probably beats Tag's deck no.1, Surg would have one point. Repeat this comparison for Surg's deck no.1 vs Tag's deck no.2 etc. In the end you would get a score, and if one player has significantly better score, then he has chosen the better decks, thus he has the matchup advantage and then this would not be just about being lucky. However, if the scores are similar, then yes, Surg was unlucky. I have 0 experience with CR's meta decks to even consider doing such analysis, but its just an interesting idea i came up with. Also, i dont know the format, did the players have 5 decks or 3? If they had 3, such statistics wouldn't be as useful.

surgical goblin so butthurt lol. lost a lot of respect for him. that's an inescapable aspect of the tournament. of course you're gonna get unlucky sometimes. plus, some of those matchups weren't even that bad.

First of all, a kissing princess emote is not BM. Second of all, he did not have 4/5 matchup advantages. Third of all, he played incredibly well in every match. Surgical Goblin has no reason to be upset except because he got outplayed

idk He's salty for the BM and him being unlucky with matchups. He was able to outplay him a couple times, but it would get very annoying if you get almost hard countered 4/5 times and have to tryhard....plus get bmed.

I like both players, but you gotta give it to Tag in this one, he surely outplayed surge which was oddly a sore loser this time, he shouldn't make excuses like matchups, he's a pro he knows it's part of the game, and Tag didn't BM, it was surge who over used emotes since the start, and I wouldn't call that BM, it's part of the game too. Anyways, great matches and ggs to both.
