Pro Vent Oil Catch Install on a 76 (70) Series Toyota Land Cruiser
In this video we take you through the installation of a Pro Vent Oil Catch Can on our 76 (70) Series Toyota Land Cruiser.
This kit was purchased from Western Filters and came with everything you need to fit this to our Land Cruiser. We already had installed a Direction Plus pre fuel filter kit which we purchased from Western Filters using their supplied bracket. The Pro Vent catch can fits this bracket so is a pretty good kit. Very easy to fit yourself as you can see in this video.
Check out our blog for a more detailed step by step guide and why it is a good idea to install an oil catch can on a modern turbo diesel engine.

Thanks mate appreciate the feedback and good to know it helped. We need to get a few more vids up.
PCV system hose has always a thermal insulation for a reason and the same hose is always short for a reason. This just is just introducing condensation risk to the exhaust gases and also increasing residence time of exhaust gases in the crankcase🚶🏻
Thanks mate .

Do you have a video of installing the Western Filters fuel manager filter as well?

Hey mate. No sorry I didn’t end up doing on. But I’ve written a blog post with pics from the install if you want to read that. 4wdadventurer.com/4wds/land-cruiser-build-fuel-pre-filter/
Hey mate, can you please show where does your hose go at the bottom? I am worried that my set up will affect steering.

Hey mate. Have you had a look at our blog post? We have loads of pictures and that should give you a good idea of where the hoses are running. I’ve added the link below. Let us know if you need any other info. 4wdadventurer.com/4wds/land-cruiser-build-oil-catch-can/ Cheers Peter
Hi Putting grease on the bolts not a good idea because make them get loss instead would be better to use locknut liquid.

I’d agree with that mate when you aren’t removing bolts too often. We remove these every 10,000 kms when we change the filter so we are always checking tightness and easier to remove when not using locktite.
Just done mine today - 2011 76 series, it was a bitch - just trying to make things fit.

Yeah the hoses are difficult to run. The one disadvantage of the one piece hoses. Would be easier with baby hands 😀
