Yes. I'm 39 and I have my two kids--ages 7 and 3.75--into it. To paraphrase Tom Morello: Skateboarding found me. It is not something I do. It is something I am. Skate and Destroy. 4 Life.

Ha. I'm reading your comment now and I'm 37 years old while you're 47. Crazy how time goes by.
Those no complys are so sweet, especially when he lands them in a revert.
one of the most important chrakters in the sport of skateboarding. he is such an amazing and likable kid also. he was the reason why i started skateboarding on 1989.

TheNimasan He came down here in OKC back in 2012 at a mall. Me & my cousin were there visiting zumiez & they were in the vans skateshop, But unfortunately we didn't go in there because everybody wanted to swarm in there to meet the vans crew. I wanted to meet him so bad because he's a legend & it's a once in a lifetime thing.
Maaaaaannnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! Ray Barbee is the fucking best!!! Just the coolest dude, with the most genuine style. Such an inspiration and great, positive skater. All the best, Ray
Ray deserves more than 6 minutes.

They have been doing a lot of ve-visted episodes lately with more in depth videos especially with the early videos hopefully he will get one too
I saw him do that 360 no comply on ban this and it blew me away, so I used to pause it and rewind pause and rewind. And I nailed it. He had so much style.
Ray had the best style, so smooth. Best graffix for a board.
Flip in BS 50-50 BS 180 out the bench, in the '80s.
Ray Barbee needs an updated full length Epicly Later'd!

No comply
Rubber boys was my favorite skate scene for a long time.
Hands down, one of my all time favorites. Public Domain and Ban This, and Animal Chin dominated my youth.
I found Ray's music through the surf film Sprout and was a huge fan of his music. I knew he was famous as a skater before that but hadn't seen him skate until this one. His music sounds like his skating looks. Great style and vibe.
Ray Barbee was my skate idol in the late 80's. His skating flowed like early 60's Coltrane.
Such a big fan of THE Ray Barbee. So much style it was incredible. In NYC alot of guys modeled their style like his. Such an amazing skater ! Would love to have a beer and chill with the man. The legend.
Legend! Gotta respect the old school. I get a lot of hate because I try some old school stuff to add some style into my lines but I don't care, skating is about having fun

Dustin Craig people who hate on other skaters esp for doing old school stuff are fucking lames, don't let them weigh you down. Those same people are the ones that do the same exact lines/tricks at every spot, flip in flip out shit is tight but without personal style, it's all for nothing. Keep doing your thing man

Thanks man, that's how I see it. I do it for me, fuck what they say

skaters hating on skaters is the most blasphemous thing to do because at its core skateboarding was made for outcasts. It doesnt matter if your just getting started or your a pro or you've been skating for 10 years and your still suck. Just have fun with it
Barbee skating Los Feliz Elementary! Without a doubt old school skate spot!
still watching the old stuff - I want that quality back =)
i remember watching him and liking his pop. seemed like he had pop to ollie over anything. block benches on piers in sf
The smoothest Skater ever!! So much flow
Public Domain made me get his board! Pink deck with sock character was so rad! Ray Barbee and Mike V. from Powell was the stuff. And Matt Hensley from H-Street changed the game following Gonz & Natas!#🛹
i rented ban this rom te skate shop when i was probaly 12 or something. . i own it now and still love it. . .ray barbee was so smooth
Ray your the man!
I love what he says at the beginning about the meaning of punk
Ray Barbie 'Patches" Board. Best board I owned.
Such a great interview!
This dude has got amazing style, those no-comply shuvits and reverts were so sick.
"How long you've been skating?" 6 years. "When did you start?" 6 years ago. duh. lol
His part in Ban This still gets me as jacked to skate as much as anything!!! CLASSIC!
For some reason I've had his quote about Punk stuck in my head since I first watched this years ago and finally found it again. Epicly Later'd was such a rad series.
1989 Nurmburg Germany, i purchased a Ray Barbee rag doll,.. silver deck with powell peralta wheels,.. great board. Some where, i have a pic of me sliding a handrail on it. 🤙🇺🇲
Dude is awesome and very humble true on his board and with him self
most buttery style ever.
Man when him Ray Underhill, Mike Frazier used to rip hard as fuck on Powell back in the day, good ole
Ray Barbee was in my ceramics class at Tustin High School. He was the nicest guy in every way.
Dude gives off a strong Hendrix vibe haha
Such an OG style. His graphic and lee ralph and the blender faces are all time favorite graphics. The deck of cards psssshh
It’s dance with a skateboard. And NO ONE has come close since. Thank You Ray for keeping me on my board and out of trouble back then.
i think i had his shoes as a kid, remember it was like dark dark blue with like bright yellow laces, soles and tongue. fucking bought 2 pairs lol
How have I never heard of him? Fucking style for days.
Sk8 since eighty seven 46 now n still hold my own
He was way ahead of his time, in the 80’.
Thanks Ray for filling up my skating period childhood ;-)
So much style
Dude, how did i miss the Ray Barbee epicly??
That was fucking classic, "how long you been skating?" "6 years", when did you start? "" 6 years ago ". This dude Ray Barbee, Matt Hensley, and Jason Lee were my absolute favorites and inspiration for my own skating back in the day.
My fave skater back in the day lol.. And that other guy with the big fat ollies from h-street.
💯 Legend Ray Barbee
Opening statement is so true
Thank you, Ray Barbee!!!
Ray Barbee was so cool and such an influence on us teens @ that time...
Man he was at my local shop in Florida like 10-12 years ago and I knew who he was but walked right by him without really realizing, wish I would’ve noticed and hung out or something, haha I was just a kid
What a cool guy. I wish still had one of those old setups in good condition
LOL yeah those were the gravy days. Miss being on scene. SK8 4 LIFE
I saw Ray at a Don Caballero/ Fucking Champs show. Heavy.

Butter, style galore
How do you spell: 'smooth' ? - R-a-y B-a-r-b-e-e
I would watch him skate then I would go out and try all his moves.he was smooth.bad ass skater.
d flips esp to 5050 bck den I had no idea,,..
Ray Barbee's the fuckin man
Ray Barbee seems like a really nice guy.
He was a decade before my time, but I remember seeing his no comply over that stage planter gap thing (pretty sure keenan switch flipped it), and being like, "Who the fuck is this guy?".
Best skater ever .The height of that slappy is mind melting.2:56
world’s most buttery item: ray barbee’s 360.
Ray is iconic. Speaker for the skaters. Be they white, be they black, be they what ever. We will be skaters forever.

Yes Ray back in the day we would just watch the Pros from afar and be in awe of what we were seeing. Nowadays kids are so spoiled, narcissistic, arrogant, and entitled!! I am worried about the future of our country if these are going to be the nation's leaders one day!!!
