    Looks awesome! If you spaced those rafters 24 oc would 2x8s still be adequate or would you have to go up to 2x10?

    How are the LVL’s secured to the 6x6 post? Building same style roof and can’t figure out best way to secure them.

    How did you handle the tie in from the LVL beams to the existing house framing? It looks like the 2 x 4's against the brick may be temporary.

  • @greennationgc

    @greennationgc

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes they where temporary. We used metal Simpson brackets rated for load

    I’m building something just like this except mine will be 24’x24’. My question is, how did you determine the size and number of the LVLs and how did you secure them above the 8”x8” posts?

  • @greennationgc

    Hey there! I'm looking to do this to my house in North Carolina. Everywhere I read it says I need collar and rafter ties with using a ridge board instead of a beam. I see you are using a ridge board with no ties. Do you truly not need collar and rafter ties?

  • @greennationgc

    @greennationgc

    you dont need the collar braces, we pass inspections.... but we do have hurricane ties on every other rafter at bottom plate

    Either you're the best finisher in the history of concrete or that 12"x12" was never dug because I don't see the transition between the original patio and the cuts.
