Pro Mechanic's Favourite Tools

Спорт

We head to the World Cup pits in Fort William where Owen Coutts asks some pro mechanics what their favourite tools are. We hear from mechanics who 'spanner' for teams such as the Canyon CLLCTV, SRAM, Continental Athertons and many more. It may surprise you to know that they all favour one tool in particular, so stay tuned to find out what that is.

Long hemostat forceps are pretty useful for picking up cables and hoses lost in a frame 😜 I have an assortment I got from my grandpa, he was a surgeon but you can find them used for cheap... *The ones with ratchets are pretty useful.

Breaker bar. Formerly used a ratchet with an aluminum seat post slid over the handle. Now I have a real one and it’s fantastic.

Respect on Knipex stuff. Here where I'm from, the price is comparable to Park, yet the Knipex stuff is so much nicer and more solid

What do they use the knipex parallels for. I have a set, and they're really handy. I can't really see a use for them on a bike though. Maybe the big set for use with bb tools.

You can adjust them to clamp a wide range of parallel flats on hexes, you can grip brake rotors with them and straighten them, you can use it as a makeshift vice in a pinch.
