Taemin was one of the first idols to have a full female crew, they're also known as his female gang. Taemin's songs are not easy to hear because they always have deep meanings.

and on top of that, he works with them for every song/comeback instead of just a one off time for a concept

In Taemin's Move (2017) he showed the K-pop industry that females and males can dance the same choreography and it doesn't have to be separated into female (cuties) and male (masculine) but just dance. He has carried this forward with his MVs and stages showcasing women dancing the same choreography as the men. In later years a few other idols dance with women, but I'm not sure if the choreography is the same. Taemin is part of an experimental boy group SHINee, so to me he is continuing along the same path always learning/trying something new and making it his own.

Taemin is androgynous, so I think female dancers suit him better. They fit his vibes. While his male dancers are more "aggressive"

Not even just the vibe the male dancers can’t keep up. The last studio choom for advice had male backup dancers and they couldn’t keep up with him so it looked messy.

I agree, but I think its a specific choice being made bc Chung Ha had very femme dancers in the mv that was reviewed on here last week. Also it would lend to a much more queer element than I think he's looking for if he had male dancers do it, whereas using women just brings it to a powerful visual and I think that's why he chooses women.

He was very busy, so I guess that's why the lack of coordination in studio choom even the female dancers also look a bit messy if you see the official dance practice you can see a better synchronization. between them (females and males).

TAEMIN has been challenging himself from the very beginning and that's what's amazing about him, that's what an ideal artist should be like. Sometimes artists just want to please the market and increase their profits, but I think Taemin shows that if you follow your own development and show it, you gain something more because you influence the next generations who see that having their own style and message is important. because it's something you can't just get

Taemin is such a mesmerizing performer. I like how she pointed out there is a darkness to his music and performances. Kai and Taemin's styles are slightly similar and the thing that sets them apart to me is there is a heaviness or weight to Taemin's music and performances vs. Kai who seems lighter and more open even when he's doing darker concepts like Black Mirror.

Would it be an idea to watch one of the 'behind the scenes / preparing for concert' videos where Taemin practices the choreo with his dancers? I feel the performance videos and ironically named 'dance practices' are the flawless finished version but I think as a dancer I think it would be kind of interesting to see the actual practice process 🤔Plus Taemin is very cute with his dancers. Just a thought ☺
