Rener is such a great teacher. Like all world-class instructors he gives you a context, a situation where you could be applying a skill and he lets you experiment so you can understand for yourself more quickly why you've failed. He then models the proper technique for the student and constantly encourages him or her.

I swear, I was away from the Gracie Academy for 12 years do to injuries, multiple surgeries and joint replacements, I missed it all those years not only because the Academy and instructors are so good, so professional and the facility is spotlessly clean and professionally run, but it is more because of the same reason I signed up back then, Rener and Ryron are not only world class MASTER instructors, their spirit, enthusiasm, generosity and absolute purpose in spreading and giving back Jui Jitsu to the masses is ADDICTIVE! They and the Academy are once again my addiction, healthy addiction that is, literally I Jones when I can't go, I would be there three times a day if I could, sadly I still have injuries that prevent that for now, and age HA HA, but getting there. Thanks R&R and fellow instructors, you and GJJ have brought me back to life again. But I'd be genuinely curious if in a real fight, Ryan's ridiculous punching speed could keep Rener from closing the distance and getting a hold of him. Ryan has a shorter reach, and Rener is taller, but bro Ryan is so fast with his jab and cross. It's not a given that Rener could get to him. Unless he imanari rolls or something.

He learned all those techniques in 1 day😲?? it took me about 3months to perfect the Gracie Combatives techniques. Because I don't have a partner and I solo drill, it takes a little bit longer to remember them. Right know I'm in the Gracie Master cycle on my own(solo) because there's no place or people near me to train with.🙃

I had no partner for Combatives, either. Rarely, someone was available to help. So, I bought a Submission Master grappling dummy. My belt test is in a few weeks at the nearest bjj school, which is about a two hour drive. The dummy allowed me to work near infinite repetitions of techniques and I would video myself. If you want to succeed, you will find a way. How are you doing master cycle solo if there is a sparring component? Best wishes.
