I've lived in Port Orchard since 1987. The summers are glorious, the winters are hideous and I'd say the people are generally on the stuck up snooty side.

Today I noticed a huge homeless camp in the woods across the street from 7-11 on mile hill road. I get hit up for money all the time in front of Safeway, Fred Meyer and downtown ect. The Ferries are infested with a deadly disease and that's no good.🙄. I read it might be sewer leaks?

It's home. But when I retire, I want to move to the base of Mt. Rainier. The town at the foot of the mountain made a huge impression on me. The people are so friendly and mountain air is crisp. I just want to be an old mountain woman , but Port Orchard has been my home since 89. I love Washington and will never move out of state.

Hello Patrick, Thank you for watching my video! I am so glad that you reached out. We personally live in Port Orchard, and we love it! As far as internet providers go, we have several different ones that cover certain areas, and some homes will have 2-3 internet providers to choose from. So, it will all depend on where the home is located. But, we personally have Wave Broad band, and I mostly work from home, and I have no complaints. Some areas are covered by Century Link & Comcast. The place I'm in has excellent internet speeds, but no cell phone service, haha.

Visited PO twice. The downtown area looked a bit tired but still nice. Not a Starbucks fan, but I really enjoyed the great coffee from The Coffee Oasis.

Port Orchard is nice but I really think that they could do some work on down town. I heard that they were gonna do a lot of work on it but then Covid hit and that messed everything up.

Agree. Visited twice and it seems the town is started to have (always have) a few homeless folks.

Here's some nitty gritty from a ten year resident of PO....I loved it but.....my neighbors house was crushed by a 100 ft tall tree in a windstorm. Landslides around Bay st. Are a nuisance. When it snows or ices, the hills are impossible to drive on. The downtown area has been heavily flooded. A huge sinkhole opened up by the bowling alley, a bunch of years ago. When you order cod in a restaurant you get very fishy Pacific cod, not fantastic Icelandic cod. My car was run into twice, on parking lots, by potheads who think it's OK to drive high....thousands in damages.......I moved.

The sheriffs dept will not enforce home robbery,had my place hit 5 times the last time the cop sat there and did nothing while we both could hear whoever crashing through the brush in the back .people from Seattle are moving in droves and the attitude . I have left the state .

Where are the rivers? And where are the good restaurants?

Fall:So pretty the leaves it rains a lot starts getting cold. 😍🍂 Winter: Usually snows a heck of a lot once a decade then normal snow the rest of the years, very cold but soo very beautiful when it snows. Other than that it's vet and gloomy. 🥶🌨️ Spring: Glorious and wonderful all the plants come back gets pretty hot the flowers here are so pretty. A lot of bees and birds. 🌷🌱 Summer: So hot at least to me there is always that week where it's 90 all week the rest is between 70 and 90. Very nice the lakes are warm and the best summers you will have ever. The lakes are packed like beaches everyone's nice and has a good time you would think it's California.🌅🏜️ I think Washington Port Orchard is the best place to live!

i hate living in Port Orchard.. it is definetely not California

While some areas are okay, most are not great including their extremely tired downtown which has absolutely no life. I personally don’t think it’s very pretty. Where are the great restaurants on the water with ambience? The only place IMO that had that was near by Gig Harbor. We purchased a brand new home on 5 acres and I hated it. It’s just not an area for me. There is a reason houses are more affordable. Hey... to each his own. I am headed to north Kitsap which is way prettier, has more restaurants and much more outdoor activities.

@@nutritioncoachjo Where in North Kitsap County do you mean regarding more restaurants and activities? I'm recently retired and currently in an apartment in Woodinville. I was going to take a look at Port Orchard and would love to look at other places in the county where there's more restaurants and things going on as I don't want to have to go to Seattle all the time. Thanks.

Port Orchard.. wannabe mountain town outgrowing itself while rotting from the inside. The further it reaches outward, the worse inside gets. High crime, theft EVERYWHERE. The ferries bring the addicted homeless from Seattle. One block downtown thinks it’s gig harbor, the rest is a shit hole and getting more expensive by the day.
