    I saw a interesting technique an artist used, she was painting a forest and the first layer of trees she let dry, then gently applied the white acrylic with a cloth going in circles. Then she let it dry and did the next later of trees the first set of trees not only looked further back but had a foggy look. The finished painting I felt like I was looking through a forest of trees in early morning fog.

    That technique works great! Just make sure your previous layers are totally dry! 🎨

    Unfortunately I think there was a glitch on this video with google search. I'm getting a ton of "views" (over 7000) that don't appear to be real people. I suspect youtube will correct this soon enough. It's actually messing up my viewer retention rate because these not-views are instantly leaving when the video is triggering a "click". It's super weird. I've never seen it before this video and the previous one.

    You can also use zinc white to push things into the distance, works better than just titanium mixed with water.

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    Normally I would totally agree with you. In this painting the more opaque titanium white would give a better foggy look like I did with the airbrush. I do love transparent white paint though! ❤️

    I have several airbrushes. Couldn’t I just use one of them spray a fine mist? Being in Sweden I can’t always get the products you suggest… Love your work!! I enjoy your videos extremely much!!

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    Жыл бұрын

    Absolutely! That's what I used to use. The airbrush is actually better because it won't let out the larger droplets that the fine mist sprayer occasionally does. Plus you will have more control overall!

    Out of curiosity....have u used water based personal lubricant to slow down acrylic drying time ?

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    Жыл бұрын

    I don't use or recommend anything but water to slow the dry time of acrylics. Non art supplies can actually ruin a painting making it not archival in the long term, but even if it was safe there is no reason to use them when water works great on it's own :)

    What is your opinion on acrylics being PLASTIC!!? NOT ECO-FRIENDLY?

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    Жыл бұрын

    Most things in our lives are plastic, stored in plastic, sold in plastic etc. Acrylic paints are the least of our problems. At least with them we are creating something with the intent for it to last unlike everything else that is just plastic waste intended to be tossed. My paintings are not taking up space in a landfill or dumped in the ocean. I don't want something that breaks down quickly being used in artwork.
