All the work involved to even get the bamboo strips to build the gate is remarkable. True craftsmanship. I always look forward to Sunday mornings & a new video. Such a great channel.

Another wonderful example of why I look forward to Sunday mornings (in United States) to be able to see another video!!! Your channel shares such a variety of true Japanese culture regarding nature and all its beauty. This video reminds me of the “connection “ I always felt walking in parks and gardens in Japan (Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture mostly), when I came upon a bamboo structure of any kind. It always seemed completely “at home” in its surroundings and adding a very strong yet subtle presence. The simplicity and understated elegance is enhanced by the careful process of taking natural materials and handling it only as much as needed to being out the vision of the artist. The knowledge of all that is possible working with bamboo has to be an extremely long (but wonderful) journey. I hope this fine gentleman artist has an apprentice or two, working alongside and absorbing all he has to share as the master. Teaching not only with the mind and hands, but also with heart and respect for it all! Thank you for another wonderful video!!! Love seeing all the detail!!! Also loved the simple fence it was put beside. Would love video on that also. Of course, ALL your videos are treasures to be studied and watched again and again for knowledge and elusive but ever-present insight.

@@JapaneseGardenTV there is an old saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder' but the seeming simplicity of the gate while. it also embodies the care and craft of the one who made it makes it a masterpiece to me!

It's clear to see he is a master of his trade- the way he handled the bamboo and the result is very beautiful. However, half the time I was extremely worried for his hands... all of you stay safe and take care.

Thank you!😊 This green color is going to go away rather quickly. This time the bamboo is thinner, so the color will change even faster.

    最近和風庭園に興味を持ってうちの庭に四目垣や枝折戸を設置しているところです。耐久性を考え樹脂製にしましたが、この緑色もいいですね。使っていくと黄色になるのでしょうか?
