Solid video. PRO TIP for the folks watching this: ...the cheap Chinese aftermarket converters SELDOM do well in modern Japanese applications. They don't perform to the same specs as OE, and the ECMs are very sensitive to this in order to maintain tight emission controls, so it's painfully common to develop P0420 and P0170/171 codes not long after installing them. This happens quite often on the ULEV/PZEV vehicles from Honda, Toyota & others. Bare this in mind when shopping for your aftermarket emissions parts. Go cheap, you end up doing it at least twice. Also, replace the O2 sensors w/OE quality parts: Denso or NTK, upstream and downstream, to increase your chances of everything working properly as a system. Thanks for this video. Mine got stolen 5 days ago in Los Angeles and have been looking for alternatives to get back up and running. Looks like the only real way is through OEM which costs $3,500-$4,000. Almost a third of the cars value.

OEM is 2200 now but it is on back order. I plan on, welding one a used converter from another car and hope it works and it passes CARB inspection. I will update the post

@@HakenE30 yeah. It’s a 3 month backorder if you put the money up front or 6 month if you wait for the part without putting money up front. Shit sucks. Please update with what you end up doing

i got an idea. what if i buy a brand new prius 2023 and then take off the cat and sell it and replace it with aftermarket cat. If the thief see's it's an aftermarket cat would that discourage them?

Why does it say front or rear catalytic converter? When ordering the part is it not just one part and thanks for the video installation process
