Everyone's talking about Hugh Jackman, but I take my hat off to Jake Gyllenhaal's performance. This movie is a master piece.

I really love the title because it REALLY fits. Everyone in the movie was a prisoner. The girls were prisoners to their captors, Jake Gyllenhaal was a prisoner to the case, Paul Dano was a prisoner to Hugh Jackman, Hugh Jackman's wife was a prisoner to her emotions, and Hugh Jackman was a prisoner to himself.

Hugh Jackman is a beast in this movie. Amazing job portraying the role of a father of a missing little girl. He’s so believable. So intense. Hoss So can you tell me what does the part when the black kid wakes up in the hospital...and says that he was there. what does that mean? And also what's up with that maze? where is the maze, what is it?
@TwiSteDx0x
7 жыл бұрын
Bojidar Martinov well first I think it was a little girl who said that not a boy, if I remember correctly she kept saying ''you were there'' to him because she meant he was there at the place they were abducted at the old lady's house, she kept saying you were there because she saw him when he visited the first time and as soon as he understood what she meant he stormed out of the hospital and went straight to the lady's house to find his daughter, that's also one reason he was a suspect after he disappeared, about the maze it was more of a psychological thing I think not a literal maze, it may also refer to hole they were kept in and I think it was basically unsolvable as they told the girls ''solve this and you go free'' they weren't 100% clear about the maze in the end.

I like how this film shows the fine line between a good person and a criminal....
High jackmans performance was seriously one of the best I've ever seen, even the slightest things like his stutter when he got really frustrated or nervous made his character so believable and make us connect with him and this movie was just amazing in general.
It's been 7 years and this movie has stayed with me since
What’s horrific to think about, is Alex never folding to the torture could easily mean he was tortured far worse and for far longer by the grandma. He would’ve rather been tortured by Keller than her.
Roger Deakins’ cinematography, with those overcast skies and chilly atmosphere is absolutely amazing.
One of the best movies I've ever seen

Damn, just watched this movie... and it was amazing. Had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was behind it all. Don't get why people say the ending was bad... it's obvious what happens! He heard a whistle and is obviously going to check it out and find out what it is. Ending was perfect in my opinion.

burlhorse89 Except for that it wasn't open. It was a cheap and terrible attempt at an open ending, but the ending was too obvious all it ended up with was being massively unsatisfying and offering no closure.

One time my sister and cousin went missing in Moorhead, MN. We searched for hours, both mothers were almost in tears, then both girls crawled out from under the bed and yelled SURPRISE!
Wolverine, Mysterio, Rhodey, Amanda Waller, and the Riddler

One of the best films I have ever seen. Captivating and keeps you guessing from start to finish and not to mention tremendous acting. A perfect film, 10/10.
Just finished watching it for the first time, oh man, all I gotta say is that this the best movie I ever seen.
I usually can't sit through a 1.5 hour movie without nodding off because they're always so boring, but man this movie was 2.5 hours and I didn't even pause for a second!

We needed 10 minutes more for the ending
@markdgama5000

@@AkumaGouki Nah it was long enough. The audience was meant to know that Detective Loki would've found Keller after hearing the whistle. He's a sharp detective, there's no way he wouldn't have investigated. No need to film 10 more minutes of what the audience already knows.
This movie was quite brilliant. Suspenseful to say the least.The ending was brilliant. It's how The Dark Night Rises should have ended with Alfred looking over and just smiling, showcasing realization, yet not having to prove it through and additional scene.
It’s 2021 and I still feel like this should won some awards
#1 movie on Netflix. I’m glad ppl watching this now.
This film is a better season of True Detective than the actual second season of True Detective.

This film is every parents nightmare.. I will never understand why it didn’t won an Oscar and the actors in it.
ngl when this movie first came out when i was a kid i was terrified of going out side and that’s why i’m so protective over my sisters now because of this
I have watched this movie so many times that I've lost count, I am incapable of ignoring it. Honestly one of the best movies I've ever seen, absolutely brilliant! 10/10

One of the best thrillers I've ever watched , ever .
OMG the acting. Hugh Jackman after this movie became one of my favorite actors. Jake Gylenhal too his acting was so good. I think the story would fit better as a book I don't read books tho.
Had never heard of this until my friend suggested we watch it recently. So intense, brilliantly acted, had no idea what was going to happen. And that ending. Godddddd!
The scene where detective loki opening the cases and then found snakes got me freaking like hell!
