In other countries, there is no concept of discussing politics beyond election season. In Pakistan, we talk about 24*7*365*5 for a one-day election.

I usually visit the National Library of Pakistan to study. The library was built in 1993, Now the conditions are very bad with zero maintenance. And there is no transport to the library. It's 30 minutes(pedestal) from the Secretariat metro station. Priorities of leadership matters.

I used to read a lot, but when I moved to Abu Dhabi the new school did have a library but the books weren’t nearly as interesting and were mostly for younger audiences. They did not allow borrowing incase I did like any. There aren’t any libraries near my area and they are far from me. I absolutely love the books I find in bookstores and wish I could borrow them but they don’t have that service, purchase only.

I am Pakistani Canadian. I came to Canada when I was a little girl and now I am almost 30, mother of two kiddos. You are right. Education is extremely important. I have been battling my decision of moving back to Pakistan for one year now. Anytime I finally make up my mind that “this time I’m definitely going! Nothing can stop me!” your video pops up and I’m uncertain again 😆 Its not easy living in foreign countries when you are a Muslim parent. I feel you tend to skip through that part in these videos Junaid bhai. I don’t know if your friends who live abroad are 100% transparent with you over one particular issue (my reason for moving back, the alphabet group (I’m not mentioning the name due to extreme censorship issues). Finland and Norway are at the heart of this issue. Canada is catapulting it in every corner of the country possible. I know this because I have primary school going children and see the books they lay out everywhere. Those books are 100% there directly targeting our children. It is going to be mandatory curriculum starting grade 3 and they will teach the kids everything about it. Junaid bhai one can have the best religious upbringing possible, take kids to mosque everyday, celebrate religious holidays with great excitement and it still isn’t enough. Who will children listen to more? The teachers they are with for 8+ hours teaching them such curriculum or the parents who just came back from work, tired, exhausted, now have to go home, make dinners, tidy up, get going to night shifts next. I understand there is a serious lack of teaching human decency & education in our homeland but atleast you can face Allah SWT in the afterlife and say “I feared for my children’s beliefs so I fled all my comforts in the foreign lands my parents brought me for a better life. I tried to protect my children. I sacrificed all my comforts and basic necessities and took them back to our homeland just so my lineage stays steadfast in the way of Islam” This is the only reason I am wanting to move back. I thought first to send you this on Ask Ganjiswag but decoded its best to post here. Maybe someone can help me stay strong in my decision of coming back to Pak despite everything happening there. All the best Junaid bhai. Been your fan since your Facebook days.

@@ryana8232 As someone who has lived here for 20 years I know the system in and out. I did my Co-Op hours for my graduation credits by being a teaching assistant in primary school. I don’t think you live in Canada, particularly Ontario otherwise you would know that the Peel Dufferin Catholic School board has had 50% of its funding cut by the government because they refused to fly the Pride flag in June. More than 100 teachers, administrators were either fired or laid off. There was a massive protest by both Christian & Muslim parents over the forced curriculum. Catholic schools have been teaching this curriculum for many years in high-school and it has made its way into primary school now. Also you sound very tone deaf saying people can send their kids to Muslim schools instead. The standard fee for the K.G class in a Muslim school is $700. There are no packages available for siblings. I live paycheque to paycheque as we are a single income household and I’m the primary care taker of kids and their school routine while battling stage 1 endometrial cancer. There are many mothers, who are perfectly healthy but still cannot work as they always have one young child that is at home. There are also mothers with children who can finally go to school so she can do a part time job AND STILL her paycheque is not enough to cover the fees for Islamic schools. Our local group of Muslim Moms have tried their best to find a way to manage it and its just not possible and that’s why most of us are considering moving back. Sometimes there are no solutions to problems, only difficult choices that need to be made.

@@titanali6225 I’m not sure about Qatar (only my uncle used to travel there for work). I spent 5 years in UAE when I got married as my husband was working there and I was processing his spousal visa. We would constantly travel between UAE & Oman and if I’m being very honest, it is not a welcoming environment. We experienced racism from the local citizens, there was intense favouritism towards locals and caucasian foreigners everywhere especially at the workplace. Its a beautiful place no doubt but not very accepting. Same case with Saudia Arab where my paternal aunt spent 5 years there and had to come back due to the same issues. Plus all of my husbands family is in Pak so thats another factor.

Hello Junaid brother, I hope you're doing well. It's really disheartening to see how our country prioritizes gossip, backbiting, and war instead of focusing on proper education. It feels like we live in a nation full of meddlers, where education has become merely a means of earning money, and we've turned into a smaller version of North Korea. I've heard from many people that the environment is not a significant factor in personal growth, and it's just an illusion. According to them, if you want to succeed, you can do it in any environment. For instance, you mention how some places have more significant libraries compared to our universities, which lack a conducive environment and freedom for exploration, relying instead on cramming outdated material into our syllabus. In such an environment, it's challenging for individuals to learn effectively. But I wonder how they can claim that the environment is not necessary? Those who hold such stereotypical views usually haven't achieved much in life. They end up stuck in a single major life accomplishment and try to force others to follow the same path, refusing to step out of their comfort zones. They seem afraid to break free from their bubbles. May Allah guide us on the right path.
