Radical transparency and radical truthfulness as a business operating principle sounds great but also feels like the measuring of everything is so systematic and so calculated that it feels like this sentence - “there’s a time and a place for being spontaneous.” It’s so measured it will never lead to Picasso. And in some ways what Ray seems to be saying is contradictory. His biggest abyss, calling for a huge collapse at the exact bottom in 1982, was reached without all these principles, and according to him led to his biggest “a ha moments” out of which he experienced his biggest growth, personally and professionally, which ironically would never have happened had he followed his own post abyss advice. Sometimes you just have to wing it, no? I guess that’s the question I would ask. But good discussion

I can also say that there are times to "wing it". I think that's the loop he shows as well. For me, I try to start out with a singular goal for each of the 4 main aspects of my life: personal development, health, family, and business. Then I do initial research/learning and design an action plan. Then I take action. Usually, those actions end up being not quite on the mark and I run into problems. I then diagnose and design and take action again. I do this until I've mastered whatever it is. This is great, but for me, I am in sales and constantly need to update my techniques and sales pitches. So, a lot of times, I will just throw something out there and see what the reaction is. It almost always encounters problems and then I run through the loop again and again to hone it in. Having the process in place allows me to come up with crazy stuff and not have to worry about it being genius or even good. I can enjoy further creativity because I know that if it sucks, it will run through the process until it's at least good (or I will just cut it altogether). The idea is never immediately judged (as long as it meets certain legal and PR requirements), and will be refined until it works. Some of my best stuff has come because I had the attitude of, "Screw it, let's just see what happens." A lot of that came from having a process of testing, measuring, and then refining everything. That same post abyss growth came from having a process of reflection, diagnosis, and then design. For me, it just gives me confidence to take risks because I know my process will auto-correct if I completely screw it up (which I do a lot).

His system of reality kinda leaves little room for self accountability, the common struggle that exercises our muscle of faith and intellect, trial and error. Any genius who thinks they can improve on the creators plan is self inflated; worshipped by others will do it. His calm precise lack of humility is telling. How can you take credit for finding yourself in a country at a time of wealth building, few hindrances for a white man and what about all the supporting people in his wake? Typical Globalist with a harboring demon spiritual intity!

So much respect for this man. Most highly intelligent people are not nearly as sociable or want advice as Ray does

Great video. But let me talk about something important, I see a lot of young people and less young people making mistakes that I think they shouldn't be making. I believe that everyone, young or old investing, should have a business plan that will boost their financial return from three figures to six figures. The investment can be your retirement plan or your future plan, whatever you want, but the most important thing is that you have an investment that is worthwhile.

Ray is great. His mission now is to pass it so it will continue, but sad to say that's the biggest challenge, Bridge water will blows up after Ray leave. Ray knows this that's why his trying all things, even doing things that he don't like (being in public & social media) Hope you can find the right person, people & upgraded model that will bring it to the future before you leave Ray! This is the best interview about Ray Dalio that I have watched on KZread. The interviewer is brainy. He really listened and asked some good questions. I am gonna take some principles that I learnt from Ray Dalio into practice.

I like Ray Dalio and he does provide some good perspectives of what's going on in the world right now as well as human nature. . .he has lots of valuable things to say. . . On another note, one of my favorite billionaires is Chuck Feeney who gave away all his billions while still alive . . .something like $9 billion. . .and left himself with only a few million . . .he now lives in a simple apartment now and says he is happier than ever. He helped out tons of charities and people and was more about spreading more love and goodness in the world and contributing to others. I find it interesting that Chuck Feeney's videos on KZread have a tiny fraction of the views of people like Ray Dalio or other billionaires who have millions of views. . . an interesting sign where the world values are and what people consider valuable. . .and not so much spreading more love and goodness in the world. It should be interesting when there's a big economic downtown and people don't have the distraction of chasing way more money than they'll ever need (because it's kind of useless and fool's pursuit in a world that is falling apart - what will happen then in the world. . .and if other values will start to become more prevalent at that time. . .

Objectivity is so valuable to me I'm constantly stripping away at all my different approaches ,it almost feels infinite correlation when you really break it down . So hows do you know what is neglegable especially when soo much data is involved .

Thanks to the greatest Ray Dalio because his clear mind to teach to set the key questions, the relevant questions, the crucial questions to. That´s the first task, to make the clue question, and then to start to solve it with the expert in that field of knowledge. In other words, I expect to learn to much from the basic principles of this great man (Ray Dalio). Enen more, I will read his paper over populism because my country (Mexico) in in political election for the Presidency, and this issue is crucial to understand how to convince or to gain this battle. Certainly, not as a battle, but to solve in pace the next period of development....

Having someone speak your weaknesses out loud is not merely an act of information sharing, it's also a performative setting that actively _manufactures_ social opinion and obligation as a byproduct. What's actually been said out loud collapses the social wave function, just like taking a measurement in a physics lab. It's useful to be able to reach inside another person's head to find out what they think (about you or anything else) without them being much aware you're doing it. It's so useful, in fact, that nature bequeathed upon us the psychopathic fringe, who excel at exactly this. This is why people rarely share their opinions in a setting without implicit obligations attached: there's a _big_ difference between having your opinions divined without you actually saying them out loud, and being seen to say them with your own lips.

I am retired now, but my last employment was for a well known Postal Organisation. The promotion system was, and still is to my knowledge, based upon seniority, and coiny'ism, . For example. I worked in the sorting office on a machine and wanted to apply for a senior office position, but I had to apply through my line manager. Her reply was " you have no chance so don't bother". Her reasoning was " they are all dressers up there"! My University education counted for nothing. My Manager had no educational qualifications whatsoever. She was promoted by cronyism. I did not bother to do anything other than my job and go home. Nut there is a simple fact: There is no meritocracy with inherited wealth and power!

Mr Dalio comes across as a very genuine person with integrity, but, as with most billionnaires, I wonder how many people (aware or unaware of) did he have to crucify to reach the level of success he has? Often these billionaires grow a level of conscience later on in life and believe that sharing their knowledge and wealth through philanthropy makes up for the misery they caused through stock market crashes to the common person.

I love this videos but I have to say whenever I see an intellectual talk about “meditation” or “spirituality” they can only see through knowledge. The truth is what we call meditation is just a form of relaxation like getting a massage. Real meditation takes a tremendous energy, upon understanding truth not in the form of words gives you enormous energy to continue ones inner work. Meditation through mantra is just another way to dull ones mind. Now you need a mantra to meditate meaning it is more of a distraction from your mind and that creates a conflict within oneself. I see so many intelligent and knowledgeable people get trapped in this. In fact I’ve only known one other person to actually go through the inner work and transform, not change little by little, which is no change at all.

Some people are great at estimating probabilities. Unfortunately those who are poorer guessers attribute this ability to failed methods or even superstition. Then we face witch trials, persecution, etc. Study the where, when, why and how with an open mind to improving the outcome. Then implement the solution, step by step, test the result, be flexible when new problems arise, and cause the least disruption while you implement the "solution."

this is so fascinating and inspiring-radical transparency-but how does this work environment survive in a society where younger generation wants safety spaces, and does not value free speech, and the litigation driven political correctness in the work space? do they sign strict waivers when hired? do they screen out the close minded on hiring? how does this organization exist today?
