How is the animation so jarring yet so smooth

This is always fun to rewatch every year or so, the animation in this particular one is so crisp and satisfying in a way. One of my favorite animators for a long time now.

Will we ever see a second episode of Princess Punchalot? This is honestly one of my favourite animations ever, I can't explain why but it's just so comfy

I can't put it into words how amazing this is on so many levels. this is easily in my top 5 favorite videos of all time. yes I think it's that good.

Is it actually though? Almost seems like he just closely follows a reference point rather than drawing over every frame. The inconsistency is noticeable with most of the walking animations but the boxing animations were definitely rotoscoped to some degree.

Disney used it a lot but made effort to hide it, it's still very noticable in Snow White (especially the dance). Some animators didn't even try to conceal it and made it part of the style like Ralph Bakshi. Also old games like Prince of Persia and Flashback used it to make sprites. The benefit is that you can use just 2-3 people to film all the action since they would be drawn over with actual character features so you using same actors would not be noticable.
