Her looks are on point but it's sad that the videos when she looked more black with her curly afro did not do as well. Nokia had to come through looking ambiguous with the straight hair to get those views. A lot of mixed race singers do this, which is sad because they always end up getting questions about their race. When Nokia had the afro no one questioned her on her race or denied her black ancestry. Now that she looks ambiguous with their straight hair, what race she belongs too is the topic of discussion. Most of her OG fans know better though. Nokia was one of the first artists to speak out about blackfishing and experienced it first hand. Nokia called out Ariana grande for blackfishing and stealing her songs, which caused her to get some backlash from Ariana fans. That was during the time when she rocked an afro and there was no denying she was mixed with black. You would think given how popular mixed race are in the entertainment industry that people would be use to the ambigious look that many of them have, even with the straight hair. Ariana grande could never naturally look this way without tans, fillers and surgery but she benefits from the white privilege and white people will remain hush about it.
