This movie is not your usual kind of drama. It seemed to drag on. The lack of dialogue was quite powerful. The ending was great. We were left to discern much for ourselves. It seemed to me in the end that Ella’s mother was actually hoping that Ella would come home. It is a unique film. Worth the watch.

This life often can be sad ... and way more sad than this. I think Ella's mother was way too hard and cold to her daughter. The Ella we all saw, had viable reason for slipping along life's path here on Earth... her best friend, her dad, passed away from her when she was only 7 ... and then she had only her cold tough mom who psychologically warped poor little Ella. And believe me, there ARE people like Ella's mother who was definitely tough and cold, no matter what because we all saw, that Ella is indeed a sweet innocent victim here. Those of us that are optimistic, believe this story did indeed have a happy ending. Emma was going to make it work out and in about 15 more years Emma's mother finally chilled out a little. And Emma and her daughter grew super close together, and Emma's mom finally saw how loving the home had become. What do you think? ❤
