I think that one of the reasons that Murad was attracted to Farya is she was probably the first woman (aside from Kosem) who stood up to him.

Highly romantic scene. Murad and Farya, both extremely arrogant , haughty , well matched couple . Lion and lioness of the series.

Yeah you are right, and if Ottoman Hungarian princess Farya sultan was real then she will holds the record of becoming a common ancestor for 2 major central power leaders of the WWI (Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary and sultan Mehmed Resad v of Ottoman Empire). But unfortunately she was one of the fictional characters in this series, right 🇭🇺🇦🇹🇹🇷?

@@kishorek2272 While it's really an interesting scenario; it wouldn't play out this way even if Farya was real. In the show, she's the daughter of Gábor Bethlen, prince of Transylvania, duke of Opole and even the King-elect of Hungary in the years 1620-21 (though he didn't have control of the entire territory), who was an enemy of the Habsburg dynasty - including the ancestors of Franz Joseph - and thus it's absolutely impossible for her to be related to them in any shape or form.

Well said. Although Farya's on screen mother Catherine of Brandenburg is related by marriage to the famous Gustavus Adolphus the king of Sweden.@@lenapetrova5085

Exactly. I really like your description of them being the lion & the lioness of the series. Though both are gradually brought down be the jackals just like Shyezade Mustapha & Bayezid in MC & like Sultan Osman in MCK. There are also some interesting comments here about Farya’s lineage. It’s worth remembering that Farya’s royal lineage doesn’t just come from her father but also from her mother Catherine of Brandenburg. Catherine was the daughter of John Sigismund Prince Elector of the Margivate of Brandenburg from the house of Hohenzollern and the daughter of Duchess Anna of Prussia. So through her mother Farya was related to the Kaisers of Germany. Catherine’s sister was married to the famous Swedish King Gustavas Adolphus the victor of the Battle of Breitenfeld,

Valide wanted Farya to go to Uskadr, Ayse wanted her dead & Farya wanted to return to her homeland. Murad ignored them all and did what he wanted. By the way It was Silahtar who talked Murad into keeping her there & Kosem blamed Farya for it.

Farya would've been happier had she just left murad didn't keep his promise of no other woman, and staying cost her a pregnancy and her life. Not to mention he gave away her throne.

Possibly, but are you sure Farya was free to just leave ? At the end of episode 32 she told hm she had to leave to save her mother but he says she is his captive & she has to do what he says. In the next episode she asks an army for a 3rd time but he refuses and later she asks to leave because her presence bothers everyone but he says she can't go anywhere and she has to stay there close to him. Then in this scene she tries to leave but he makes her return saying he will use force if he has to; after which he locks her up in a mansion. So she may not have been truly free until they married. Personally I think she should have told Murad she was leaving him when he brought Sanavber Hatun back unless he sends Sanavber away. Although, I don't think Murad would ever have risked losing Farya for Sanavber. For various reasons I don't think the writers intended Farya to die that early in the show. They may even have intended for her to survive to the end of Murad's life. I suspect the writers may have been forced to cobble that ending together very suddenly because of something unforseen happening. .Possibly because the actors playing Farya & Silahatar left unexpectedly or something like that.

I don't disagree but Murad is also part of the problem because he fails to disclose critical information to the principal women in his life. In the first 3 episodes alone, Murad fails to tell Ayse about the secret letter the princess brought, he fails to tell Ayse or Kosem that the princess isn't a murderer as she has only killed in self defence, he fails to tell Farya what is in the secret letter from he pope or about Ayse or his children. She only finds out about them when she goes to the party in the harem near the end of the 2nd episode. So Ayse and Kosem both fear Farya is an evil scheming woman when she is actually the complete opposite. d@@Muslimmukhtii
