She out shined him. I remember someone saying that he was angry because she was more loved than he was, she was receiving more attention than he was and he just couldn't understand it because he was going to be king so it should be him getting all of that love/attention. 🙄 Incredibly childish. Sounded like a spoiled brat instead of a man. They didn't deserve her. Such a beautiful, kind, sweet, loving and empathic soul. ❤

Love the silver one shoulder Hachi number. It was amazing on Diana. It was appreciated by many that she wasn't always "safe" in her evening wear. Of course the burgundy Catherine Walker with pearls down the back is iconic.

Princess Diana definitely added grace, royalty, class, and honor, to the world . She left a vacuum that can never be replaced by anyone. We still mourn for you 😢😢😢

Diana was a fashion icon. If Charles didn't like what she wore, he should have paid attention before she showed up. Perhaps said "Oh I like this one better." But nope. He only criticized afterward. She went her own way as it was made perfectly clear to her that she was there to provide children and nothing more. So she did as she damn well pleased. And why not?? The rest of them did. She was only following example.

Diana never wore anything "provocative". Diana was always, modestly, appropriately and stylishly dressed with a sense of chic. Her evening outfits, if sporting a shoulder or back, can never be called "prococative", rather, "attractive", would be a more apt description. By the way, what Charles knows about fashion is dangerous. Wearing a black evening gown, as any woman knows, is the height of chic and elegance.

Yes, I never believed she was shy, and certainly not exceptionally shy or naive. The moment the Median began following her, she learnt how to manipulate them and tease them - doing the doe eyes, doing the head tilt, doing the looking up under her fringe look, doing her I'm bored or I'm depressed look - all signs that were not saying I am shy. In these ways, Meghan M is actually like Diana - manipulative, conniving. After the divorce, she utilised her perception of shyness to her advantage.

I think Diana had clothing consultants advising her on what was trending and glamourous. I don't believe she did it all on her own, not at the beginning, at lesst. And isn't there a Mistress of the Wardrobe that puts together the outfits of the royals and does a lot of the shopping for them because of their work schedules? ​@@Brembelia the late Queen certainly has such a Mistress of The Wardrobe; Angela Kelly. I'm not sure if Camilla employs someone like that or if that was one of the cuts for economy. Not sure at what point a "dresser" is sheer necessity; but it's not a given, as best as I know. Princess Diana may not have had that kind of lady-in-waiting.

It was a dress for a slightly older, more experienced woman. Diana's sweet baby face didn't quite go with that dress; though she had the _body_ for it. 😉 If only she hadn't had to climb out of that low limo in it. 😞 And wasn't that the dress for which she was ridiculed - wearing a ball gown at an event with no dancing?

How is upstaging (or trying to) the main players, "team spirit"? Back then, Queen Elizabeth was the Number One. Prince Philip was the add-on. Now it's King Charles with his wife as support. Princess Catherine, the current Princess of Wales, is the supporting act of a supporting act (William). Yes, they are all in it together and they know it (team spirit!), but there are roles and ranks to mind. Upsetting the apple cart isn't team spirit.
