Just as an ICU RN speaking here, if we have to resuscitate someone, we intubate you and put you in a short coma in order to do so. We don't intubate "alert" people. So for sure, she had dangerous complications in her surgery. I think the complications were completely unplanned and life-threatening. The fact that her initial hospital stay was so long tells me she had an ICU component to her stay. I wish we could be updated that she is recovering well. She can keep it all private, but I just think so many people are truly worried for her.

I hear you on the medical part I'm an OR nurse. I don't feel like this was a planned procedure I think it was more emergent. I think she had a miscarriage and ended up needing a hysterectomy. You know having young kids around and initially needing a pillow on her belly to walk may not be something she wanted her kids to see. Kate comes out with a statement about her abdominal surgery. To respect her privacy, they needed to say something that would require the same recoup time. I believe something did happen on the table which required the hysterectomy to save her life. Coma? Idk

I'm also wondering if she stayed in the hospital because she was grieving. There are many reasons I say miscarriage, but one is William took time off from work. I'm not sure we can make any leaps, but coma to being home in two weeks sounds like a short time for the next Queen of England. Just thinking out loud.

Marin, This is something you’ve probably seen and it's horrible You know if a pregnant woman is at a certain stage sometimes they have to deliver the baby. Here in the States anyway. Like M said, there were complications. Whatever happened, I think she went to sleep thinking she was having a C-section and woke up with a hysterectomy. If William had to make that call, it could explain her fury towards him. M?

@Durelle820 💯. I mean she definitely had a near catastrophic event if her recovery is looking at 6-9 mths. Be it sx complications, psychological, or a combo of both. I'm just glad in one way, all this is coming out. If a RF is to exist, it cannot continue to run amongst this insane dysfunction. That is clearly not sustainable. I wish them all good health and peace of mind.

@Durelle820 and I think the "coma" for the average non medical person sounds so scary, but it's just a part of resuscitation and ICU stays. It's not like people go into a "coma" and stay there. And if they do, that a more serious indication of neuro damage which I don't think that is the case here. If she were hemorrhaging and "crashing" we would give her drugs that put her in a coma as we intubated her, and then do the supportive care, be it surgery to stop bleeding, etc., so people need to look at coma in this instance as just part of the treatment when a patient is crashing. Not as a permanent state

Wow having to choose to end your babies life to save your own is totally devastating. If she did have an eptopic pregnancy and had to get an emergency hysterectomy no wonder she is in a very dark place. I got chills when the death card clarified the death card. Tip: Never say that to someone who has just lost a baby. I had a nurse say something like that to me 15 minutes after I came out of surgery because I had miscarried, and I nearly threw myself across the room at her. The other patients close by were disgusted with her. She was removed from my care.

I've read that the King was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told to expect 2 more years. Hope I'm wrong but it would explain why the Palace don't want to announce anything, being as the prognosis for this type of cancer is never very positive. Can't help feeling sad for KC3. So much aggro between his sons plus his own relationship with Harry and the death of both parents, all within a few years. Tragic really 😪

I still think hysterectomy due to endometriosis scar tissue attached to bowel etc, really can’t see Kate and William having more children there lives are about to change drastically.. but the mental health aspect I’ll be honest can you imagine all the shit that been spread and all the unrest it’s caused but not being able to have your day or respond 😮 come on that’s gotta be the most frustrating feeling in the world x

Long time nurse here...I was thinking possibly a ruptured appendix that went in to peritonitis or sepsis. If it was an emergent hysterectomy due to an ectopic pregnancy she may not be hospitalized for very long; except if there were complications, of course. Just thinking out loud.

But her engagements from Jan to March were abruptly cancelled so being told that the surgery was planned was probably to stop panic and speculation. At Christmas 🎄 she certainly looked very slim so if she was pregnant it must've been very early days.

William is having to do some of Charles duties since Charles has been diagnosed with Cancer .All charles is doing is answering to his Red box of letters etc he has to sign and answer every day .No other duties the Drs said .So this week William is doing "investitures " like when they Knight people etc .Princess Anne ,Charles sister will help too .When Charles passes or stands down William will become King and Kate Queen Consort they say .So William has a lot to be worried about .

Could it be that Kate was having an affair that resulted in Thomas Kingston’s death, a forced abortion, and removal of her ovaries? That could explain her depression if the two theories are correct. I believe she’s been placed in an induced coma, that’s why she appears to be in-between dimensions.

This is what I'm pondering. You will all be familiar with having to sign a document to consent to have a surgical procedure and when this includes or could include surgery on the uterus, you have to agree to a hysterectomy in a life threatening situation. If for whatever Royal reason they didn't ask Catherine to sign for that, they would have asked Prince William for his consent to a hysterectomy - when an emergency happened, given that is what was needed for her to stay alive. How desperately sad is that for them as parents and individuals. So hard for them all with KC's news too.

This makes me think the King is a sicker than he's announced. It's odd for Harry to be on his way to visit, too, so it just seems all like a lot is going on under the bridge. William is probably going to be taking the crown sooner than he thinks, and whether Kate is up for the job, it's anyone's guess. The child also might have had abnormalities of some sorts and they forced a termination, which put her life in danger. You just never know with the monarchy. May Kate be in peace however she is.

She did not have a hysterectomy. IF you research what they said she had you will see that 10+ days in the hospital and 3+ months at home are normal for some of these surgeries.

Here are a few thoughts : With Charles’s health in question, and possibility that Kate could have no more children (feeling she is letting Wm & herself down, depression & raging hormones if had to have hysterectomy) leaves William behind the eight ball (so to speak). Harry & Andrew (and/or any other Royals) not in a position to step in to help out, leaves monarchy in vulnerable space. In her 40s, she would be pre-menopausal but still very able to have children at that age. I wonder if this surgery was an obstruction in her bowel w a rupture and subsequent sepsis. That can make one close to death, and it's definitely a major sx and major recovery. Add stress to that, and it's a whammy to your body and mind. I truly hope Kate is able to do what's best for herself and her children. I'm worried for her.

if catherine princess of walles was schedule surgery for an ectopic pregnancy... and it ended up , an hysterectomy... obviously... -it ruptures- ... and it can be fatal... if, in the end, after her waking up... she's being told the finality about what happened... it sure can put anyone in a deep dark place... many woman will feel ... being pregnant.. or having the capability of being pregnant.. make you feel complete... an for the princess of walles... this is the ultimate option ... William may be also worried about the succession, obviously once his father is no longer, they will have to take over and this may be much sooner than expected. He must be feeling overwhelmed with all this and his wifes health i am sure, this wouldmean a heavy burden to carry.

William has been prepared since birth.

If Catherine has lost a child, she will be grieving. It is like depression but different. Worse. I pray for her healing and hope she can eventually find some peace.💜💜💜

Was there domestic abuse before the emergency surgery that night to save her life? Did william beat her and thats why she lost the baby and had to have hysterectomy? He didnt want any more kids she wanted one more. I can understand her devastation. Esp if there was big fight with william and she lost baby because of it. Why did you get death card? Was it kate?

I think William’s worried about the big picture. Charles has to hang on despite his poor health, because Catherine needs time. She can’t make the transition to Queen right now. William is having to somehow balance his father’s situation alongside his wife’s situation AND try to keep the kids on level ground. There are going to have to be decisions made about other royals helping to manage the workload, and that will possibly include having to let Harry back in. Letting Harry back in might be the decision that William doesn’t want to make, but there may not be any alternative.

I feel really bad for Kate. I bet she’s regretting marrying into the royal family. They say she is on all kinds of meds to cope with her depression and mental health issues. She looks a lot older than she is so it’s obviously taking its toll on her. I hope she feels better soon. She’s a beautiful and sweet woman.

Sort of stumbled upon you today and I have to share my first thoughts on Catherine... abdominal surgery...planned.. (bowel obstruction.... length of time ...bit overgenerous.... then got ectopic pregnancy...surprise...two surgeries one unplanned..... I don't think she was aware of this pregnancy yet.... but she was hoping for another child...perhaps a girl . (will now finish your reading..and subscribe) Namaste!

Oh, Lord, I have been wondering what is wrong and what is hidden. Bless her heart, such a lovely lady. Wow. She may have had her baby die in womb or etopic pregnancy and also had to have hysterectomy. Both would affect her hormones tremendously. I feel for them and King Charles's ill health.
