seeing the witness smoking in the studio is quite amusing from a modern perspective

There was no escorting police vehicle for the royal Limousine. Just the chauffeur and the detective who earned the George cross for gallant bravery. He took several rounds for the princess!

I’m amazed they didn’t include this on “The Crown”.

If Princess Anne had been in her Reliant Scimitar, no-one would have caught her!

Royal protection has never been the best. Queen driving herself around in an unarmoured Range Rover was always a worry. Its a tough balance to strike between giving the Royals a life and keeping them safe.

Shocking story! What's really crazy is this lady is smoking on tv!!! OMG, times have changed since 1974!

Can you see she is very nervous in the interview; her smoking had to be allowed, to calm her nervousness because she is a vitally vital first hand eyes witness that was only saved by God's grace from being Gun 🔫down in the kidnapping attempt. Think of that -before professionalism and ethics in journalism!

This was not a 'normal' London accent even then - this is clearly some RP speaking deb who was driving down the Mall late-ish in the evening giving some indication of where she probably lived - basically a posho witnessing some aristos get murked innit

Her testimony in this video is contrary to another - which said Princess Anne's husband darted out of the vehicle and left her to fend for herself! Her security got her out of the car.

Is this woman still alive? I hope she was given a bravery medal or something.?This was all back when smoking was not a problem anywhere..

People was nuts back in 82 then.Even worst now 2023.

I wonder who broke the news to Anne's parents. Tough job.
