Princess Anne Extended Interview on Save the Children (1990)
On 18 January 1990, Princess Anne, Princess Royal sat down with ITN's John Suchet in Buckingham Palace to discuss her work with the Save the Children Fund (STCF), more commonly known as Save the Children. Princess Anne, who was marking 20 years as president of the charity, discussed a range of issues relating to the charity's work across the globe. The Princess Royal spoke about what first drew her towards working with that charity in particular (a clue: it wasn't a desire to work with children!) and how she thought the government had improved its support for NGOs. She shared her thoughts on why Save the Children was needed in the UK as well as less economically developed countries, including the ways in which developed societies can lose a sense of community. And she pondered on her pessimistic tendencies and how the work of Save the Children gave her cause for optimism.

I like that she doesn't let people put words in her mouth. "I did NOT say that. What I said was ..." She says it politely, but firmly.
She is so focused and gives really good answers. She knows exactly what she is talking about. Good interview.

A born princess who was so beautiful when young and funny and stood up for herself her Wogan interview endeared her to the public, that didnt last tho , got to be very formidable in later years realising her privileged position and her condemnation of Diana , knowing she was right, leaves a bad taste in the mouth about her legacy,

I like how she was starting to criticize the government a little bit because they put good money to waste as it is... Instead of lining politicians' pockets, give the funds to impoverished children...
Counseling is the theme in schools for providing aid among school children. Peer Counselors are chosen among their teenage peers in secondary school in Kuala Lumpur back in the 90s.
She is only one not spoiled in The royal family .all other are spoiled brats.
Her comment about people not caring, in modern society is spot on. The loss of family values and social isolation that follows is a product of neoliberal capitalist ideology.

I have always admired Princess Anne, I think she has made a great contribution not only to the monarchy but also to civil society and that is perhaps where monarchy is essential for the Civil Society. When head of state is a superannuated is a politician their take is suspect. Not always Mrs Robinson is an exception ,but Anne has been impressive .I speak as a Socialist who is a monarchist, because of persons such as Anne who compel respect as well as admiration [[9 October 2023]fifty years after her example converted me.
