Princes Pier Railway Exploration (Cartsburn to Inverkip Road)
I explore an abandoned railway line in Greenock, including several tunnels. First video I've posted that was filmed with my action camera on a chest mount instead of a handheld camera.

Walked the section from Lyndoch station to Orangefield many years ago when I was a boy. I recall seeing the container trains on it too, but thankfully not while my pal and I were walking along it. Good memories, thank you. 👍
9:30 I've crossed over that bridge so often. I remember the steps getting built and being amazed how well cleared around had been to fit them in. That wee burn continues under the new houses by the roundabout. I remember them getting built: the culvert was uncovered for a few months while they reworked around it. Princes Pier was a sad loss. It was on a par with Wemyss bay for style and age. The G &SWR were quite a big spending company and their Arran Steamer, the first Glen Sannox still holds the Ardrossan to Brodick record. I'm told it's 33 minutes. (I've also always wondered why the railway through Lochwinnoch town and Kilbirnie was axed but the line down the other side of Loch Winnoch and Glengarnock was kept. Another topic I suppose).
Many a litre of eldorado wine and supers were drunk in the big tunnel, that was my walk to school back in the day.👍
used to walk this often as a boy from cartsburn to orangefield.climb up the embankment, hop over the wall and continue on to the hector mcneil baths, simpler times sadly long gone
Believe me, you are not sad : if you are, then so am I, as I am another tunnel enthusiast! I love exploring and finding disused tunnels and have walked quite a few. Thanks for such an interesting video. More, please!
Great video 👍
I hope inverclyde council and Scottish parliament/government make a new train line using these old tracks. Maybe a small metro system 😂.
