Money curtesy of the over burdened tax payers. Either you slept through your maths lessons or you did not pay attention during your geography lessons 3 million rolled out over a period of 5 years is negligible and will not make a dent in the homeless crisis in the UK. A man with 6 mansions a billionaire is going to end homelessness with 3 million pounds. More performative BS by William. This folly is the latest line in a long list of embarrassing folly. Although demand may be high, there needs to be a cap on rentals, particularly in places like London where employment opportunities are concentrated. If not, employment opportunities need to be distributed in such a way, that areas with low demand for rentals can be utilised if remote work is possible. This may even reduce urban migration and maybe boost sustainability as infrastructure in smaller cities and town can actually be utilised.

rent caps don't work they didn't work in the seventies and they won't work today as the market changes landlords will sell and rentals dry up .. be careful what you wish for!

I work closely with homelessness case management as well as council housing. The number of open homelessness cases is staggering although great many of them are in temporary accommodation in hotels like Travelodge for example. They are already being fast forwarded by most councils if they apply to council housing yet there are only so many void council housing properties actually available to bid on. For permanent housing they are also often banded together with people with urgent medical requirements to move or domestic abuse for example, sounds like his plan is to band them above those groups so the homeless will get prioritised. I can think of 2 potential issues with this - Firstly, what are the implications for the other groups such as DV sufferers and medical needs (will they also increase number of housing to compensate or will it remain the same?). Secondly, and this is illegal, sometimes landlords/councils unreasonably reject people because they'd rather have someone less problematic to deal with on their property. It happens. Will landlords also be more closely monitored to ensure this does not happen?

There is no disability housing at all no housing in Scarborough no rented property nothing The housing bidding system is a joke it's. It is not working

£3 million is not enough money to solve this problem. The UK does not need research it just needs more buildings people can call home. He and his Dad are both Billionaires, they could free up land and offer long term leases to help people. The family take £350 million a year from the tax payers and recently spent £225 million on the coronation of Charles and Camilla who are both deeply unpopular. If William was really serious about homelessness he would commit to giving up some of his £22 million annual salary he's paid from the Duchy of Cornwall, which as a company, pays no tax and build some homes on the vast amount of land the Windsor family and the Duchy of Cornwall presently owns. He is using this as a PR vehicle when homelessness is a real issue affecting millions, with thousand facing eviction right now in summer of 2023.

William is trying so hard and the other one is whinging so much and making Netflix film 😅

Harry made himself look really bad, the royals simply went on with their usual charity work. It’s just that Harry doesn’t do anything that isn’t performative and that actually requires him giving up some of his wealth, like William giving up his own land. They also have an astounding difference in work etiquette. William does a lot of public engagements for each of his initiatives, Harry shows up to military event once in blue moon and then sells documentaries about his charity, Invictus, to Netflix to earn money for himself as a producer. It’s truly sad.

William on the other hand is donating 130,000 acres of his own land to eradicate homelessness because he has fond memories of when Diana first brought him to a homeless shelter. The reason why you think that “Harry is the caring one” is because, *while William is busy doing actually charity work, Harry is in the media using Diana’s legacy to say “I’m just like her, I’m such a good person” but without ever doing the work*
