Why is this the first time I've ever heard this? It's incredible!!!
Prince was an absolute legend on the guitar and it’s sad he doesn’t get as much recognition as he deserves but in my opinion,I think that’s mainly cause he played multiple instruments: piano, drums, bass, brass etc etc. I mean so much talent that it’s mind blowing

I want to like every positive comment I see. The man was a musical gift to humanity. So much original talent as well as the ability to cover past greats. It's a shame his life was cut short. Imagine the music he still could've created! Not to mention finding and exposing new talent. Talent begets talent I feel. R.I.P. your beautiful soul.
This is ass kicking music right here. Prince is the king of everything that produces a musical sound. Enjoyed the ride.

Absolutely. I was raised on EVH, SRV, Duane Allman, Angus Young, Jimi, and more, but this is utopia. Prince was plugged into the muse directly. He could turn it on at any given moment. Wish his catalogue was more guitar-centric, but I still love all his music. Good Gawd!!

@@miro115 You should really go and listen to more Gray Moore. He could play anything. Watch his version of Redhouse then his version ot the Messiah will come again then listen to Texas Strutt where he mimics SRV and Gibbons. It's hard to compare but Gary Moore could shred metal play the most soulful blues and would paly with anyone. I guess it's a matter of taste and I love all of them but to me Moore was the best. He chose his craft over money. If he had been American he would of been recognised far more. I also agree SRV and Prince were great I guess its down to taste.

Look up the two Prince shows from the 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival. Band is Prince on guitar plus bass, drums & keys -- no 2nd guitarist, so every note of guitar you hear comes straight out of his red hotrod Strat. I've never seen/heard a player more intimately intensely innately merged with an instrument; melodies & fills stream out of his fingers at the speed of thought with no visible exertion. Video & audio quality of both sets is excellent, and to my ears, set 1 is the best Prince ever played on any recording ... until set 2, which is even more unbelievable than that. The songs will mostly be unfamiliar to you (they were to me, anyway), but that's OK -- just kick back & let him do it to ya in ya earholes. You'll be glad you did.
What a find. Def has a Hendrixesque vibe. Also proud Prince was born, raised and stayed in Mpls after he made it big. He could have gone anywhere and no one would have blamed him.
