    Wow, very well done! I'm still trying to complete the original game (and I always waste 20 minutes in level 8) but your version looks even more difficult ... I would die a miIlion times if I try to play that one, haha. I was born in 1987 and remember how I watched when a friend of me played the original game. A few weeks ago, I found a free version online (Prince of Persia archive). Now I'm really playing it 25 years after "only watching". Very cool and challenging game! My only - and very UNimportant - criticism is that the princess is a bit too passive ... Sending the mouse is literally the only thing she does. If I was the game developer, I would add a puzzle where the princess plays a key role. There exists a theory which states that in level 6 of the original game, the shadow blocks a direct path towards the room of the princess. You are already in the palace since level 4 and the balconry in the background is also a sign. The only places where you see a balconry window are level 6 and level 12/13. So this fan theory states that you are VERY close to the princess and that's why the shadow throws you back into the dungeons. Based on that, I had an idea for a puzzle in which the princess helps you in an active way. I would add an extra level between 5 and 6 in which the following things happen: before the start of this new level, an intermezzo movie clip where you see the princess who tries to open the door of her room. Then the level starts in a normal way with guards, spikes, gates and so on. Then you see the closed door towards the next level. So you have to search the door trigger tile. You walk and then you see ... A very loooooong row of cut-in-half-slicers slamming in the same frequency. You try to run or jump through them, but the array is too long, there are at least 20 of them. You try to walk through them with small steps, but they are too close to each other. You realise that they are an unpassable obstacle and chose the other direction. There, you have to climb ten floors which are directly above each other. The tenth floor is an one-tile-large platform. You stand there and then, at the other side of the computer screen, at the other side of a wide ten-floors-deep pit, and one floor higher than you ... The princess appears! She escaped her room (remember that her room is not too far away if the theory about the shadow in level 6 is true) but the pit between you both is too wide and too deep to reach each other. You can't do a run jump because your platform is only one-tile-large. She can't reach you and she never learned how to fight with a sword, but she does something else. She throws a bottle to you and you have to catch it (up button and shift button) otherwise the bottle falls ten floors down and will be broken. At the moment when you drink the potion, Jaffar appears and grabs the princess to drag her away. Now, you have to figure out the effect of the potion. An attentive player will notice that the triangles of your health indicator turned from red into gold/yellow. You descend the ten floors and only when you are bold enough to retry the 20-slicer-obstacle you discover the effect of the potion. It makes your body invulnerable. So you can pass the slicers without being injured. Behind the slicers row, you have to climb and descend a few floors and you have to open 1 or 2 gates before reaching the level exit trigger tile (we all recognise the sound of the door when it opens). While you return to the slicers row, the yellow health indicator signs turn red again and BAM you are cut in half when you try to pass the slicers. You realise that the invulnerability effect was temporary. You replay the level and this time you know that you have to hurry after drinking the potion the princess threw to you. But every time again, you die in the slicers when you return from the door trigger because the invulnerability effect ends 3 or 4 seconds too early. You can only pass this obstacle and finish this level of the game when you are smart enough to realise that you don't have to descend the ten floors one by one after drinking the potion ... because invulnerability allows you to directly jump down ten floors without dying. By jumping down directly, you gain the 3 or 4 seconds extra which you need. So this time, you open the door with the trigger tile and can return through the slicer array before the effect of the potion ends. And you reach the open door towards the next level. Then we see an intermezzo movie where the princess is back into her room, and we all understand that Jaffar locked her in again (with a better closed door this time). The next level is level 6 with the fat guard, the balconry and the shadow who blocks the direct path towards the room of the princess. This puzzle would give the princess a more active role because you need her potion to complete the level. What do you think about this idea?

    Nice mod, but the shortened time limit of 45 minutes seems very strict. Seems like you did it with only a minute to spare.

    Yeah, I played through it a few times and made the time limit as close to my completion times as possible. I suppose I could have extended the time a bit, but there are quite a few unforgiving moments with closing gates etc and the overall time limit is just one more.

    Why can't you maintain the screen aspect ratio of the game's original format? You have to fuck the damn aspect of the image and stretch it.
