Prince Harry stunned by military award backlash | Royal Insight
Prince Harry has found himself at the centre of another military award controversy as he prepares to receive what is known as a ‘sporting Oscar’ for his public service.
The Duke of Sussex is understood to be stunned by the vocal backlash over the decision to give him an award named after Pat Tilman, the American war hero killed in Afghanistan.
Harry is set to be handed the award by Serena Williams in a glitzy ceremony hosted by ESPN, but even the late hero’s mother has come out publicly against his nomination.
She said there are recipients who are ‘far more fitting’ for the honour named after her son, and that she was shocked they would select such a ‘controversial and divisive’ individual.
This has prompted calls for a rethink and even a petition with more than 70,000 signatures urging the sports network to choose another recipient.
In this episode of Royal Insight, India McTaggert explains how the Duke’s actions since leaving the UK means he will forever be dogged by controversy.

Michael Buble was paid one and a half million dollars to sing , My Way to Harry and it was paid by Invictus as well as Meghan's expensive wardrobe. Tne soldier who defended Harry in this video was paid by Harry. Harry donated to this soldier's Foundation it was in tne hundred of thousands. They are all in on it.

Because to get visa clearance he needs to receive a national award. That is the only reason Harry is receiving the Pat Tillman Award. Look at the connections between Serena Williams and her husband, Disney/ABC/ESPN, BetterUp, the Tillman Foundation, Harry and Meghan, Pat Wood, and the Biden White House.

There are plenty Americans that would benefit from this award..not bunker Harry who was protected as a UK prince.. As for the Invictus Games give the award to those who actually do the work to make the games possible.. Harry is a Patron who should not receive awards but does receive great PR for him and his wife.. Jake Woods speaks up but also received money for his company from Archwell so I don't even listen to what he says..

Sport not sports. The games were set up by the Royal Foundation. The last games saw Meghan, inappropriately dressed in creased shorts marching ahead of veterans with a smug look on her face, how is that right? What about the two of them demanding to be called sir and ma’am at the one year to go Whistler in Canada event? What about the focus of the games having shifted from the competitors to Harry and his wife? Oh, yes, and allegedly, Jake Wood’s charity received $200,000 from Archewell, so no wonder he came out in support of Harry. If this video is an example of the Telegraph’s journalistic and investigative standards then there is a lot to be desired.

I read that Harry and Meghanw donated 250,000 thousand dollars to the Pat Tillman Foundation. So it looks like Harry already paid for that award through his donation. Paula M on YT did a deep dive and found out that 75% of the donations from the Pat Tillman award goes to the employees. The CEO makes a six figure income. The Foundation is run by Pat Tillman's ex wife and her new husband. I think it's a big grift. The Gary Sinise Foundation gives 100% of it's donations to the veterans
Harry failed his pilot's test 3 times, he is NOT a helicopter pilot. The Invictus Games were a rip off of the Wounded Warrior Games started in the US. And the Invictus Games has been losing money in recent years due to all the expenses of Harry and Meghan. The guy is a total fraud. His nickname in the army was "Bunker Harry" because he spent his time in the service protected by guards and playing video games. Case in point, he mentioned in his book not realizing the number of injured service members until he saw them on the flight home. Just like the legends of aviation awards, this is a bought award that he destroys the legacy of the award and hurts the previous recipients.
What he wrote in his book about about his time in Afghanistan re the Taliban etc... I don't know how that didn't preclude him from any award to do with the military...

They're not in 'competition with the entire kingdom' they just think they are. The king had a meeting with constitutional advisors a week ago. Why he had that meeting is not known but speculation suggests it may have been the beginning of the legal process to remove Harry from his place on the Regency Council.
He has no business accepting this award. Harry and Meghan have used the Invictus Games to promote their personal brand. It's absolutely appalling. What an absolute insult to bestow this meaningful award on someone so unworthy.

Mr Wood & Harry exchange funds between their 'foundations', not tax avoiding I'm sure, (ahem) but a good reason to support each other. He isn't stunned, he genuinely thinks he deserves this award, he will turn up and he will take this award. He thinks he deserves it because of his work with the IGs, the games his brother, sister-in-law and father created for him to give him something to do after he expressed his interest in the warrior games. He did do a great job of it before his wife turned it into her fashion and listen and look at me show. He just does not see it. I am British and I am ashamed that he would accept this award but not surprised he did.

King Charles just gave back 1 billion pounds to the British people, and thousands of charities have greatly benefited from their charities, to start with. Unlike bunker and his vile wife, the royals go about their duties unheralded..
Well over 70,000 signatures on the petition with doubts that thousands more were not counted.
If Pat Tillman had the protection Harry had he’d still be alive
He is a very divisive person, how can he be awarded for proudly saying his kill count of men that were humans. All people that served for their country knows is very disrespectful what he did. ESPN will lose a lot of respect over this.

Just like in professional fighting, those that are lesser fight a big name so they can be associated to the greater fighter. What harry is doing (cuz we know HE came up with this lame idea), is akin to digging up the good name of the Corporal and trying to attach HIS name to the better MAN. If harry was worthy of a medal, you'd think he would have EARNED one when in the military!

The answer is yes. How he treats his family shows his moral character. Just because he was a good soldier/man close to 20 years ago does not mean that he still is. His betrayal and selfishness towards his family and ultimately his country is why he is unworthy of this award. Also yes, he saw the Warrior Games and wanted to create something similar for the world stage but it was his family and their position who brought forth that vision for him. To omit that is failing at honest reporting. Prince Harry has repeatedly slammed my country and the Bill of Rights. He should never be given an American award when its clear he has distain for our rights and government.

I wouldn't purchase anything with the logo american riviera orchard on the label, they are such grifters, and he is so undeserving of this award, and i am sure king charles is aghast he hasn't declined with grace.

He is no longer HRH yet he stills ensures it is used…a real slap across our beloved late Queen Elizabeth. I just can’t stand him nor his wife
My heart goes out to Pat Tillmans mum her son paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country and to have his memory treated this way is absolutely disgraceful all those involved in this are disgustung low lives. I wish the RF would step up and do something.

Surely they would if they could but they have no control over what H does. Walked away from the family and the institution. They are likely as mortified as the rest of us but H wouldn’t listen to them. He only obeys his handler.

One he is involved with a military sporting organization. This wasnt a military service award presented to him. I don’t think this dishonoured anyone.
Perhaps theprince should learn the great skill of retiting from public life gracefully and focus on his family. He has a sustainial private income afterall.
It is not a military honour. It is a sporting award.
Since he was never a licensed helicopter pilot that award was false also
