The Wales are a great example of how monarchy can benefit its society greatly, by being an example of family values, continuation, class, work ethic, contributors to their country history and culture... giving its people something to aspire to. Specially these days, where this is all being lost. Love them!

Very surprised to hear the National Anthem being played early one morning this week,turned out that it was both Camilla’s birthday and the anniversary of George V changing th family name from Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha to Windsor !!! Whichever,both seemed pretty irrelevant In times of a “cost of living crisis” it was good to know that we peasants can afford to give Charles a 45% pay increase in 2025, taking the Sovereign Grant up. from £86.3 million a year to £125 million….any chance of a public referendum on that,in our great democracy ???

Given this income generated from the crown estates is set to more than double from £400million per year to over a £1billion, the government has decided to increase the sovereign grant given to the royal monarchy to continue running the estates. Sounds like the government and peasants also get a massive payrise courtesy from the crown.

I'll always remember George's face on the balcony at the Jubilee when he looked under his Great Grand Ma's hat and realised we were losing her. He's a very perceptive young man.

Harry and Meghan’s exit was not mismanaged - Harry said himself (in the Oprah interview) that he would never have left the Royal Family. It appears Meghan had no intention of staying, no matter what. Also, the issue of being a ‘spare’ does not always exist - Princess Anne and Prince Edward prove that. And finally, Charlotte will not need the Edinburgh title as she will become the next Princess Royal.

Sorry, but Harry wasn't sidelined. He did that himself. He was much loved by the public and family. As a couple they could have been incredibly important in support of the monarchy but decided to throw it away. His own behaviours though meant they had to be cautious in what he was doing.

I think the spare issue is the reason they decided to have Prince Louis. Princess Margaret also had that issue being the spare to her sister. Charlotte will not be alone in line to the throne to her brother as she has Louis with her.

I’m a Liberal in California and I adore the entire Wales family.

I really like this balanced reporting from someone from the British press about Prince Harry, that the Palace didn't do the best job dealing with sibling rivalry between him and Prince William.

George has come into his own this summer. His 10th birthday photo is fantastic. Charlotte is beautiful. Louis is a lot younger but seems a spoiled brat.

Because accidents happen, George could become King tomorrow. I WELL remember a ‘rule’ that started when William turned two years old: He and his father couldn’t travel together anymore in case there was a fatal accident, an heir would live. And William has been ready to be King since he wasn’t much older than George. When he was at Elon, he spent as much time at Windsor with Granny, learning the history, as he did with his studies.

Chuckles, maybe, not William. Diana was *determined* to raise ‘her boys’ to be as normal as possible: She made them wait in line at McDonalds and to buy movie tickets, but then took them to visit the terminally ill and homeless. William embraced those lessons, sadly, hairy did not.

Sorry, but I can’t believe that Harry was upset because he was supposedly ‘the spare’. He was second to the Queen in popularity, does that sound as if he was being overlooked? I think Harry was annoyed when the Queen wouldn’t allow him and his wife to lead cushy lives being half in and half out, with Charles and the taxpayers footing their living expenses and security. I think both would have liked 6 months to flit around with the A listers doing nothing in particular but enjoy themselves, and were very miffed when they were expected to work … hard … as Royals. That obviously didn’t suit Madam at all, nor it seems, did it suit Harry, simply from my observations of their words and actions anyway.

His age is irrelevant. He has probably known for many years that he’s a future monarch. William has been ready to be king since he was a teenager. And doubtful it’ll take another 50 years for him to be king. His grandfather is 74, he’ll be lucky if he reigns for 10 years. If chuckles dies tomorrow (we can only hope), William becomes King and George becomes heir apparent.
