Greece is not their home country. This family are foreigners who were appointed in Greece by the Great Powers. They have no connection with Greeks, and they are of German - Danish ancestry. They caused the darkest events in modern Greek history. Almost nobody cares about them in the country, with the exception of really few royalists. Greeks even forget their existance. We've remembered them again because of Constantine's death last year.

Υπάρχει η νοοτροπία οι πολύ πλούσιοι, να θέλουν σύνδεση με βασιλικές οικογένειες. Για να ανέβει το κοινωνικό τους status ακόμα περισσότερο. Οπότε γίνονται ανάρπαστοι όσοι έχουν τίτλο. Φαντάσου η οικογένεια της Μαρί Σαντάλ, να λέει στον κύκλο της ότι είναι στο ίδιο σόι με τον Κάρολο της Αγγλίας πχ. Οπότε οι μεν παίρνουν τίτλο, οι δε τα πλούσια ταίρια.

We are not sure if prince Konstantinos-Alexios speaks Greek. That is very very important for a prince. His father prince Pavlos speaks great Greek, also his uncle Nikolaos and were very proud of them. But how about Pavlos kids??? If they want to be called Prince's of Greece, they have to know and be able to speak the best Greek ever. Then we will be proud of them too.

Are you going to be proud of them simply because they possibly speak Greek? They don't speak Greek because they know they will never return to the throne. They live their life as every rich young person does. It's ok. Alexia, Pavlos and Nikolaos were raised at a time when the family had hopes of claiming the throne again. I am not sure even If their younger siblings speak Greek.

@vaggos013 According to your approach, it sounds like even their father, their aunts, and uncles were speaking Greek just because of the dream of getting back the throne of Greece. I'm sorry but I reject your opinion, my friend. If you're really Greek, you learn Greek because you really love it. It comes out physically. It shouldn't be about the throne. And you never know what the future is hiding, as we used to say in Greece. So, in order to honor yourself first( if you're really Greek, I mean) and then your family, you need to love your heritage and learn Greek. I assure you that for the last, at least 15 years, modern Greeks are very proud of the royal family. The royal family should be proud of being Greeks , too.

The Spanish one turned out to be a swindler who had to abdicate, the British one is far from popular. A referendum in tje UK might force a change. The Greeks will never go back to that rubbish.

That is impossible for lots of reasons. They don't have something more to offer. Also royals in Europe do not govern. They are simply head of state, because of tradition. We don't need something like that in Greece, and we have no tradition with these royals.

so they are related because prince william's father, king charles, is second cousins with king constantine, who is the grandfather of the young constantine alexios. plus, william is constantine alexios' godfather. a more precise answer is this. constantine alexios' grandfather, king constantine, is the uncle of prince albert who is price william's grandfather. i hope this helps.

This makes William and Constanine Alexios third cousins _once removed_. . And they are also even closer relative to the royal family of Spain. As his grandfather King Constantine II’s sister is Queen Sofia who married former King Juan Carlos of Spain hence Prince constatine alexios father and the current King Felipe of Spain are 1st cousins and making him 2nd cousin to Spain’s heir Princess Leonor.

Nostalgia for what? Their disastrous reign? Their anti-democratic interference in politics from the 1920s until the 60s? Their disregard for the constitution? What did they do in the last 50 years to earn any support? They were, are and will be hated.

The Greek constitution doesn't recognize royal - noble titles. They are not even Greek citizens. They have Danish passports. He is not king of Greece whatever anyone says, or who his relatives are. @@isaacmaskey468

In reality they are of German - Danish (and some other) ancestry. They don't have Greek genes, because they never wanted to mix with Greeks. All the wifes and husbands were foreign. The only exception is king Alexandros who married in secret Aspasia Manou (a Greek woman) but he died young.@@1skaldur

Yeah well I draw the line in giving my hard earned money to an already rich family who can afford the upkeep of their own properties. As well as giving respect to rapist and those that cover for them. Especially when it involves minors and sex trafficked individuals.
