Well ain't love grand? That must suck to be an unloved moving target. That Harem is as dangerous as being a soldier in Ukraine right now. She just needs to run away..and the further the better. Let that rabid weasel of a consort keep him company. How many attempts on her life has FL gone through already? Too many to count. Well, he married that evil, good luck....Snort. oh he talks a good game but nah, better to be an unknown peasant in the mountains than Empress. He's as useful/helpful as the dumb ML in Dear Designer. I'll just keep being a cat lady. It's safer.

At this point he has fallen in love with Yue Zheng but does not realise the depth of his feelings….in the plotting before the attack Feng Lin said he had his own plan for her so presumably he no longer wanted her to be a casualty. What his plan was ….only he knew ….and not made clear in these excerpts. Feng Lin is a victim to a certain extent, still haunted by memories of his mother. He believed she was abandoned by his father and her rightful place stolen by another woman. He grew up away from his father so presumably is dealing with feelings of rejection and clearly is jealous of his younger brother…..with a background like this he was easily manipulated by the conniving Du Zhi An …I think Feng Lin has lingering affection towards Du Si Yu but the promise of marriage was made by him as an impressionable youth. usurped bThe conniving Du Zhi An has used these feelings

Wish the plot had been written whereas she felt in love with the main kidnapper because he wanted her for his queen🤔

Actually with the kidnapping it was not Feng Lin refusing to rescue her it was her encoded message within the the letter that warned him not to save her.

Bwahh! At that point he still didn't love his wife yet, funny time to listen to her "suggestion". My bet is that he was hoping that the kidnappers would handle this mess for him and wife would conveniently disappear. This ML is disappointing. He can't read the room right, can't cherish who is good and loving in his life (timely) and just can't keep his wife safe. Snort! What the Hell is he good for? Target practice?
